Cerebria – The Card Game is a fast-playing set collection stand-alone game for 2-5 players in the world of Cerebria, spiced up with various card effects for lots of player interaction. Players strive to build Emotion combinations in their Mindset, protect them from others and score them during Revelations, which rewards Bliss and Gloom Identity fragments. Players can win by collecting 12 of a single Fragment type, or 7 of both types. Cerebria – The Card Game features 96 Emotion cards, 80 Identity Fragments, a Mood Marker metal coin and a special, magnetic box. It is a great way to introduce new players to the world of Cerebria, as it complements the main game's theme and presents some of its mechanisms in a simpler form.

Fun, easy to learn card game that rewards players with great art you'll love to play
I love the Cerebria world; the board game this card game is modeled after is at the very top of my list for favorites. I didn't get in on the original Kickstarter so I didn't know about the card game for a while until after we had become very familiar with the base game and grew to love it. Once I discovered this card based version of Cerebria, I absolutely had to have it.I am happy to say I was not disappointed in the slightest with adding this to my game shelf, I play this pretty often and it is one of my go to games right now when I want to teach something to others. This is easy to learn and new players can pick up the rules just by playing a few hands. There is some deeper strategy and more complicated actions you can take, but this is true of almost any game once you learn the cards and scoring possibilities well. I've found it to be a popular choice among our group when someone is allowed to pick what we play next; it is a repeat winner for many of us. A bonus for me, I've found introducing people to the card game allows me to then later introduce players to the board game. The artwork is stunning, and will wow everyone playing. While debating your actions to take each turn you'll have fun conversations going on talking about how this or that emotion looks and how much players like this one over that one. While everyone else is busy admiring the art though is your time to strike. There is a decent amount of take that type of play with the various emotion powers, and you'll have a lot of opportunities to move cards around, steal from another player, or play quick draws from one of the 3 Impulse areas in the middle to try and make some quick points. It will be up to you and your group how you want to play; there are paths to victory that won't require any of that confrontation if you don't like that, which again scores this game points for me. I appreciate there being a nice balance and variety of opportunities for how you play. This won't be the same card game over and over each time.Players will spend the rounds taking actions playing Emotion cards until a Revelation is triggered by clearing one of the middle 3 rows of cards. Each time this occurs points are scored, players gather the Fragments they have accumulated, the middle row of cards is filled and play continues. Victory conditions will be either 12 Fragments of either, Bliss or Gloom, or a combined total of 14 Fragments, 7 of each. You’ll gain those points by playing the Bliss or Gloom emotions to your own player area and making combos of points based on matched sets of the Vibes, or color symbols represented on each card.Great game, it has a very fast action turn for familiar players, wonderful art, varied methods of play, and just overall a clever theme built from a world of emotions. This is one that will have a place in my collection forever, I hope you'll check it out and love it as well.
