Great as a toy, not for saving
I needed to find a piggy bank that would not break when my toddler carried it around. Why is that so difficult to find?? Who thought giving a small child a breakable ceramic object that looks like a toy and makes noise when you shake it is a good idea? Anyway, after a lot of searching, I settled on this to replace my daughter's broken piggy bank, and she absolutely loved it. It is quite a bit softer than I thought. Basically like a stuffed animal with a bank shoved inside. The interior bank is quite a bit smaller than the pig, so it doesn't hold much. It can't really hold dollars, and at some point my husband removed all the quarters so there was more space for my daughter to keep putting money in. Also, the opening on the bottom to remove the coins is pretty big and noticeable, which lead to lots of questions and then tantrums because my daughter constantly wanted to take the coins back out.Overall, I'm on the fence. It's not really a great solution if you want your child to actually be able to save money over a long term because it holds so little and doesn't fit paper money. It's well made and very cute, but I guess it would be better as a secondary, novelty option.

Lock does stay
Is is super cute, my granddaughter loves it, but you just move it and the lock part on the bottom comes off. This is not favorable, we are constantly picking up the coins and having to put them back in.

Cute, soft, wish it was a bit bigger....something that could hold a childhood's worth of money.
