I didnt realize that these were slices of freeze dried shallots. I really wanted them in smaller pieces so I tried to chop them up...didnt work..hard as a rock and everytime the knife blade hit the slices they went flying!! All over the kitchen lol.. I soaked them in water for a bit then drained them and tried again. Went a little better except for the thicker slices. I wanted them tiny for dips, but I guess if you use them for cooking and the slices work fine. Good product otherwise..just depends on what they are for.

I was skeptical since it said “Dried Shallot”. In Iran we call this “Moosir”. They are supposed to be the same thing but some how they are different. Any way for those who are looking for Moosir in particular, I highly recommend this brand.

Had to grind them in a big blender into smaller chunks and then put those smaller chunks in a pepper mill grinder. I can sprinkle that into any casserole or soup.Good flavor, pairs well with yellow onion flakes, too!

Slices are as thick as a coin and wood hard. Great for slow cooking, not so much if you want to put in eggs.

These babies are good. Soak them in water, then shred them into some yogurt with a bit of salt, and you'll see how good they taste.

I never write reviews, good or bad. But I felt I had to write about these Persian moosirs, as I refuse to call them shallots, because that would be misleading. These are excellent quality and very easy to grate after reconstituting in water, because of how whole they’ve been dried, compared to other brands I’ve bought in the market. I highly recommend these

I use the product for cooking- I crush it and add it to soup. It isn’t as pretty as other varieties, but the flavor is okay.

This is a shallot I have been searching for a long time and could not find. The product and flavor was of good quality and had that special smell and taste so typical of Persian shallot.
