The discussion on body dynamic, though short ( he has other books) had some perspective shifts. ( look for twisting)The pictures cover a wide range of usageThe older pictures of his father shows me interesting differencesThe stance jams jumped out at me

Complement to Bagua Essentials
This book, Attacking Hands of Ba Gua Zhang, is the second book by Gao Ji Wu with Tom Bisio. It is loaded with excellent photos by Valerie Ghent. While first book, Essentials of Ba Gua Zhang is an excellent introduction to Ba Gua circle walking, this book looks at the open-handed fighting methods of Ba Gua Zhang. The best part of the book for me was the Seventy Two Techniques; these are the fighting movements of Gao Ji Wu's father Gao Zi Ying. The period photos of Gao Zi Ying capture the power of his Ba Gua. The accompanying photos explaining the technique are staged but give a pausible entry to the technique. I have found these techniques to be unique and worth examining. The photographs and details of the 64 hands are done well, but Gao Ji Wu has done those in another book. These two books make an excellent additions as Ba Gua Zhang reference materials.

Intermediate to Advanced Liang Style Bagua Zhang
Together the two books: The Essentials of Ba Guay Zhang, by Gao Ji Wu and Tom Bisio The Attacking Hands of Ba Gua Zhang, by Gao Ji Wu and Tom BisioAnd the 3 DVDs by Tom Bisio: Bagua Concepts Volume 1: Ding Shi Bagua Concepts Volume 2: Lao Ba Zhang and Linear Applications Bagua Concepts Volume 3: You Shen (Swimming Body BaGua Lian Huan)Make a good intermediate program to advanced program in Lian style Bagua Zhang. The books are very well illustrated with lots of photographs. But are still sometimes hard to follow. With the DVDs the system is much easier, but will still provide a lot of information that will take a long time to follow. This combination makes previously unavailable information, especially in the area of applications, now readily accessible. One area that these do not cover is the use of weapons.Hopefully Mr. Bisio will be making more books and DVDs.
