Read this before getting tested for sleep apnea and save yourself some heartache!
Yes, I did the cover for Phil's book, so I'm biased. After listening to him talk about all the stuff he wished he'd known about CPAP machines and what he wished he'd known before getting his, I told him to write a book, and sent him the cover. Phil is a great writer, and he brings his sense of humor to this book. He also lets you know you're not crazy and that CPAPs are not an easy fix, like taking a pill or finding time to walk for 15 minutes a day. CPAPs require a complete change in habits, and that's AFTER you get the right machine, the right adjustments and do all the stuff that NO ONE tells you about before or during the time you go through the process. This is a short, but very helpful journey for anyone who is wondering "What's next?" I've had the sleep study done (thank God for clinical trials because it didn't cost me anything) and did not qualify for a CPAP machine, but I'm thinking maybe it's time to do that now....10 years later. Anyway, Great book and for 99 cents? Geesh. Buy it already.

a real life product testing journal
The read was easy, short and made several noteworthy points . Overall a helpful little piece for anyone getting, or considering, a CPAP machine and adhearing to the treatment plan.

Great little book!
This was a great book for a new Cpap user. It would have been wonderful to read it when I was diagnosed with apnea, before I got my Cpap, or in the early days of using the wonderful (complicated) machine. I will suggest that my supplier tell all new Cpap users about this. It's a difficult transition that would be made easier by education. The writing is clear, full of empathy for new folks and often funny. As I said, it's a great little book.

ok, so it’s not just me…
Informative, entertaining, and encouraging. This is a personal discussion not a technical treatise. It does often get a bit melodramatic, but it was helpful to see some of my experiences mirrored in his book. I recommend this as a ‘light’ read that delves shallowly into the technical matters of sleep apnea.

Great, Informative Book
This book has a lot of great information for those who have been told they need a sleep study to determine the cause of sleep problems. It's well written and accurately explains what to expect upon arrival at a sleep study location, how to adjust to mask wearing, and the great benefit of the cpap machine. The author has preformed a great service for the sleep deprived.

Boy am I glad I spent that dollar
I happened on this book when I ordered some supplies for my BiPap. I thought..."What the heck...can't go wrong for the low price of 99 cents... ". Boy am I glad I spent that dollar... This author, Phil Elmore, explains the process from start to finish... As I wish that I had gotten a sleep study for diagnosis of my sleep apnea much sooner, I wish I had read this very humorous book even before that sleep study (that I finally broke down and had...... ) He is right when he says to get that diagnosis... You can die if untreated.... By the way... The technician that performed my sleep test told me to wash my hair with hair conditioner FIRST, then shampoo to get that goo out of your hair... It worked! Thanks Phil, for your truthful explanation of the process!

Must Read If You Have Been Diagnosed With OSA
I loved this book. OSA is a condition that most people are not aware of. This book is not only for those who are diagnosed with OSA but for everyone. Awareness for OSA has to be built.

Nothing new
Not much revealing. I do not know how to use more words to say that it did not add anything to what I have learned by just buying and using a CPAP.
