Handy sketchbook for pen drawing
This is the first time I've bought this style of sketchbook, as opposed to wire spiral bound and I'm happy with it. The binding is flexible so it's not hard to get the page to lay flat to draw on. It's a handy size and I can tell the elastic will be helpful to prevent crushing the pages in my bag. Most importantly, the paper is nice quality. I primarily draw with markers and pens. So ink either bleeding and ruining the quality of the drawing, or soaking through the page to make the reverse side unusable and possibly marking the next sheet, is a big concern. Attached is a photo of a page with markings on it and the reversed side. The drawings are done with Prismacolor illustration markers (the skinny ones), and I marked the margin with different tip sizes and layers of ink. As you can see, the amount showing on the reverse is really negligible. The one darkest mark is from a Prismacolor fine art marker (the fat ones) - but I've never seen a paper yet that those don't show through, and here there was no bleeding to the next sheet. I also tried a PaperMate Flair pen (my old unpretentious standby) which can be more aggressive than the Prismacolors - also no bleeding. So unless you're drawing with thick alcohol-based markers, the claim of 160 pages holds up!

Great quality for such a good value. Worth every penny!
I'm not one to write reviews but this product deserves it. I've only had this sketch book (the 8" x 6" in green) for about a week now and I'm simply in love with it. I am no paper connoisseur but I am impressed with the quality of this paper. It's smooth and opaque, ink doesn't bleed through so I would say it's truly good with most media. (For reference, so far I've only done art in this sketch book with graphite pencils, ink/pens, felt-tip, Micron, and brush pens.) The sketch book itself seems to be of great quality. The cover is soft yet thick enough and that little pocket/folder in the back cover is super convenient for those of us who want some storage space. For the price and overal quality, this sketch book is quite possibly one of the best. I plan to purchase more soon in other sizes.

The paper is pretty thick and feels nice and smooth
Overall a very high quality sketchbook. I use it as both a journal and a sketchbook. The paper is pretty thick and feels nice and smooth, it almost reminds of cardstock. I've used only a handful of pens in this notebook, so I can't really say for sure how well the paper withstands bleeding through to the next page, but micron pens will definitely hold w/ maybe a faint visible outline on the other side if you hold it up against the light. Noodler's black ink through a fountain pen is the same. I've also tried pilot parallel pens on the paper, and the ink that comes with those pens definitely bleed through the page with feathering. I've also done some light watercolor-ing with the small sakura koi set and the paper, surprisingly, did not wrinkle! The cover feels like smooth leather and there is a small pocket in the back to keep loose things such as photos. I will totally buy another one of these once I use my current one up!

Great Sketchbook
I got the green and I absolutely love this little book. It's the perfect size for carrying around, even in a purse, and the color is charming. I was expecting the paper to be thinner and less durable than it is, which was a good surprise once I started using heavier ink pens. Another neat feature is the nifty folder in the back, it's handy for keeping small notes and pictures. I would recommend this to anyone and will probably buy more in the future once this book is filled. One detail that is easily overlooked, and I don't mind but some might, is that the strap keeping the book closed rubs raw on the bottom and top hardback binding after a long amount of time.

My only real problem is that the photo makes it look like the cover is textured/bumpy
The pages are thick and work for my pens. There are a page-marking ribbon, a stretchy band to hold it closed, and a pocket in the back. So overall, it is quite practical. A word of advice: be careful opening the back cover if your ribbon is in use. When I did this, the paper inside the back cover ripped. My only real problem is that the photo makes it look like the cover is textured/bumpy, which is what I prefer, but in actuality the cover is extraordinarily smooth. It probably wouldn't bother most, but I am weird about textures, so I am having to get used to it.

but the paper texture is nice and isn't flimsy like printer paper
The green is slightly brighter than pictured. I was hoping it would be more of a deep green, but it's ok. I haven't used any mediums besides pens on the paper, but the paper texture is nice and isn't flimsy like printer paper. The size is nice - not too big or too small. Very portable and fits my needs for on the go art. I am happy with this purchase.

He recommended a movie for me
I gave this to my artistic son who hikes and marathons for his vacation time & to & from his fireman station to home! He and his Dad hiked the Yosemite John Muir Trail...210 miles in 15 days! He recommended a movie for me,"Mile,zMile and a Half",where the hikers gave a detailed account plus drawings of their trip. I thought my son would enjoy doing the same with the C2F Pentalic Sketch Traveler Pocket Journal. He's taking my two grandsons on their first trip to Yosemite on their Spring Break so I'll encourage him to use this journal!

I love the feel of this journal
I have been using this journal for quick pencil sketches and writing with fountain pen ink. the paper is smooth and silky. The Italian green cover is soft, the reasonable price allowed me to feel uninhibited with making art and mistakes. If I ever actually finish a journal, L would buy this again.

Emerald green!
I loved the green color. That’s why I got this sketchbook. I like the bright white paper. But this sketchbook doesn’t lay as flat as some other brands. You have to really crack the spine. Fun colors though, looks good on my bookshelf.

Very nicely made book
Very nicely made book. Paper is very white and smooth, both pencil and pen go on smothly (no bleeding) even some light watercolour, and colour pencils. The green on the cover is true to picture.
