Solid and gives your foot a rest area.
If you have a TJ, then you need this! It was super simple to install. It literally took me 5 minutes from start to finish and most of the time was to ensure it’s placement. I put it as far towards the front as it could go following the curve of the floor. I basically put it where they all go. I put it forward so that it would not teeter on anything underneath.I’m 5’6” with the seat back enough to have a slight bend on my arm when on the steering wheel. On the foot rest, I have a bend in my knee that feels much more comfortable than just being there. It also makes adjusting in the seat easier.Get one. You won’t regret it!

Great pedal
I must admit, at first, I was confused. When I ordered this, I thought it was a live pedal that actually moved when you pressed on it. But I guess the name should have been a good giveaway, it’s actually a dead pedal. It doesn’t do anything! You bolt it to the floor of your car and it just sits there. I guess that’s why they call it a dead pedal and not a live pedal. I’m still not sure what the purpose is, but I went ahead and installed it anyways. For what it’s worth, it fits well. And the black color goes well with my black carpet so nobody really notices that I have a dead pedal. If I had any complaints, I guess the only one is that because it’s bolted to the floor it takes up space where I would normally put my left foot. Other than that it’s a great pedal, even if it is dead.

Helps the back and keeps foot from being in down position.
Great for long road trips and offloading. Great to rest foot and brace as well. Seeing there is only flat sidewall metal and plastic housing in that area no where to rest foot.Great value and great item. Need one for passenger side!

Perfect for what I needed
I have a jeep LJ (wrangler) rock crawler that didn't have a dead pedal. Often I was bracing the floorboard with my left foot and it was a stretch....enough to give me some sciatica after a day in the jeep. I was going to build a dead pedal or get one from an SN95 mustang. But for the time involved in either of those, I choose to get this one. Simple install. Works awesome. No more sciatica. One of my favorite jeep mods in 20 years.

Needed some tweaking to fit right.
Needed some tweaking with a grinder and a 60 grit flap wheel to fit right. Nothing too crazy (about 3/16" on the edge that goes against the body), but I expected it to fit without modification. This also required me to touch up the part I ground with paint and let it dry, which extended out the installation to 2 days. So much for a quick 5 minute install. Also be aware that if you're running carpets/ floor mats they'll require modification too. Once that was sorted it was easy to screw it on with the 5 supplied self tapping screws. I've had my TJ since 2000...purchased new. I've always wanted a dead pedal on longer drives. This does make it much more comfortable having a place to put your left foot.

Improves Comfort
TJ's have a surprising amount of legroom, so I always enjoyed being able to stretch my left leg out, but I never could find a comfortable place for my foot, This took care of that. I wish it was a little more optional as to where you can mount it, but it pretty much has to go in one particular location in order to be installed properly. Can't have everything, I guess. Still very glad I bought it.

Nice addition
I've had 2 TJs, one manual and one auto and always wanted a dead pedal. This solves the issue.Obviously I put mine way forward from where it was suggested for. This was just where I wanted my foot. I removed the plastic shield that covers soundboard wiring. That could be modified to fit but I'm leaving it out.The only issue I had was the interference with the floor mat. This might be minimal if put all the way forward as intended. I didn't want to cut my floormat. I attached the top side bolts to the tub as intended, and picked up 3 rubber spacers at the HD. Screwed them to the spacer, and then wedged a hockey puck between them and the floormat. The tension and rubber keeps it in place and I can still remove my floormat when needed. And three less holes in my tub.

Pourrait etre plus efficace
Très pratique et beaucoup mieux que rien mais pourrait etre mieux. Pas assez haut et pas assez dangle mais je suppose que c une question de gout...
