Is this the same spray from back in the 1980s that I used to lightly mist and shine the hair and had a very light liquid solution?

I'm not sure. I actually ordered the spray by mistake. I wanted the conditioner, which I really love. On my hair the spray is a bit heavy. I find that if I spray it on while my hair is still really wet and then wipe it with a towel and dry it, it does make my hair a bit softer and seems wavier. Didn't notice any difference in the shine. :)

Golden Spray

Old-Fashioned Inexpensive Product

Please do not think this product can be applied to straight hair and all of a sudden it will be curly. That is NOT the case. If you have natural lightly curly hair to start with (as I do), this product helps increase the curl. I put it on and “scrunch” my medium-length hair into curls with my fingers as it is drying. For me it works great.
