"This very special 31-disc CD singles collection celebrates the legacy and phenomenal chart success of the Stock Aitken Waterman songwriting and production team, who provided the pop soundtrack of the late 80s. Released to mark 30 years since their first UK number one with Dead Or Alive’s You Spin Me Round (Like A Record), this is the first-ever box set devoted to the hitmaking partnership of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman and tells their whole story by bringing together 31 classic releases from 31 different artists. Essential hits such as Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan’s Especially For You, Bananarama’s Venus and Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up feature alongside sought-after rarities and fan favourites by everyone from cyberpunk fantasy band Sigue Sigue Sputnik to Philly soul sensations the Three Degrees and Motown legend Edwin Starr. Each remastered CD single in this set is presented in an individual card sleeve replicating classic original vinyl artwork and has been expanded to include 12” mixes, rare B-sides and bonus cuts, with fourteen CDs ‘packjammed’ as special double A-side editions each featuring two classic singles.Across 31 discs, the complete box set boasts over 250 tracks, many of which are previously unreleased or on CD for the very first time, making this collection a must-have for all SAW fans, collectors and connoisseurs of 80s pop. Housed in an heirloom-quality outer box designed in homage to the gold and silver disc-packed walls of the PWL ‘Hit Factory’, the set also includes a 48-page booklet featuring lyrics, discography, a commentary from Pete Waterman and brand new sleeve notes."

Fantastic Box Set
For weeks I went back and forth over whether I could really justify paying over £100 for this boxset, but finally caved in after I read positive reviews on the hit factory forum and hit the "add to basket" button...and I am so glad I did.To counter some of the negative reviews on here about the choice of singles, and the sometimes overwhelming amount of mixes included for some tracks, I will say that this boxset is clearly aimed at the PWL/SAW collectors and fanatics, this is not for the casual pop fan who likes the odd SAW produced record.Of course there are going to be singles that one fan will prefer over another, and there are singles that I would have preferred to have been included, there's no Pat & Mick, Delage, Kakko or Austin Howard for example, but there are other singles included that I have never got my hands on until now like Spelt Like This, Michael Davidson and Jeb Million, that really make this worthwhile for the PWL fan. The sticker on the plastic wrap states that this is 'Volume 1'....so there could be some more treats in store on a 2nd volume and singles that some people feel should have been included on this one.The box itself looks really good, and is nice and sturdy, the booklet is full of photos of the artists, pictures of the various covers and limited editions of the singles and the lyrics for each single (in true Smash Hits style...showing my age there!)Tom Parker and the rest of the people behind this boxset have worked absolute wonders, they should be very proud of themselves. So my advice, if you think its too expensive but you are a SAW devotee, then save up...its really is worth it.

A great boxset in general and a fantastic opportunity to get some rare versions and mixes, remastered on cd, but could have been even better. Some of the choices seem a bit random for me and there are much better SAW songs out there that could have been included. I know it is impossible to please everybody all of the time and perhaps there will be a second volume later this year. The intention here is clearly to highlight a song (sometimes two) by a particular artist and give you every version possible. This can lead to overload on a couple of occasions, particularly Sinitta and Princess but completists will appreciate this.As I have said, the fact that this material is even available now, in such beautiful packaging and high quality remastering is fantastic and something that I never thought I would have so I can not really complain. Here's to volume two!

The perfect loveletter to SAW
What an incredibly beautiful love letter to SAW and SAW fans alike. The detail that has gone into this box set is immaculate, with the perfect choice of singles showcased. Admittedly a set more for the true SAW fan than the casual listener who thinks of "Love In The First Degree" or "I Should Be So Lucky" when they think of SAW. But for me, I'd have it no other way. The detail in the artwork, booklet, mastering, everything.... it's gorgeous. With SAW fans, they want every mix. Nothing to be left out. You see this to be the case with the many reviews of re-issues from over the years. So on this set, every mix is included as it should be. If you think there are too many mixes on a particular disc, skip the ones you don't like. Problem solved. I've seen some negative comments which I really do not accept. Try appreciating the hard work, love and passion that went into the making of this amazing set.

Go for it before it's gone.
Exactly as advertised. This singles compilation is exhaustingly complete for the 33 artists' singles that are incorporated here. I doubt if any other versions of these singles can be found anywhere. Original mixes, remixes, dubs, instrumentals, and rare B-sides: they're all here. Keep in mind that at least 20 more of these compilations could be released in order to present all Stock-Aitken-Waterman "singles" in the same resplendent format. This is only Volume One - so if you're a serious SAW collector/completest, better grab them up as they are released.

What a fantastic compilation of some of the great SAW tracks including many remixes and versions of the same tracks. This is probably more for the fan of SAW rather than a casual listener. For those who have moaned about the number of remixes on this box set, my question to you is, why buy it in the first place. Not a cheap price at over £100, but, if you truly like SAW it is a MUST.....

Spectacular
It was than what I expected, a lot of remixes of famous songs and a bunch of unkown songs (at least, for me). When will vol. 2 come out?
