" I love reading Sara's books and this one was no exception
Life is complicated, interesting and definitely deeply dimensional as experienced in "The Greek Village. . . stories." I love reading Sara's books and this one was no exception, although, to me, it felt a little short. The feelings generated from the story cling to the mind, long after reading, giving thought and mental discourse . . . In this story, a young women has an unexpected adventure which allows her to process some of the more disturbing details of her life. . . . and then her life moves on, framed a little differently, and exposed in a . . . perhaps, more tender light. The story of humanity is about how our souls touch other human souls as we traverse the road of our life . . . and how looking out for those connections and finding meaning in them . . . is the reason for our existence . . . 'Tis a beautiful vision . . to see the bright blue waters, around Greece, curl at the base of our floating adventure, and the sun warms our ethereal bodies while we learn a little more from the heart of humanity . . and we add another piece to the puzzle of life.

I love writers! I love Sara Alexi!
I can't remember the last book that touched me as much as this one. Some writers entertain, some teach, some amuse, some merely pass the time, etc., and some make you think. And Sara Alexi makes you think. You'll also cry and smile. You'll re-read passages that are especially meaningful and the images will remain with you (oh, making eye contact with that dolphin!). You'll be slow to move on to the next book, wanting to spend more time with the characters and what they reveal. For me, "Watching the Wind Blow" is a 'reminder' book. Maybe I'll slow down and smell the roses; maybe I'll re-evaluate what I'm doing with my life, maybe I'll remember what's important; maybe I'll be just who I really am; maybe I'll make a difference in someone's life; maybe I'll listen.

I have loved every single book in The Greek Village Series
I have loved every single book in The Greek Village Series, but after staying up all night to read this latest addition, I think I have a new favorite. This story is so real, so emotionally raw. It delves deeply into the psyches of two wounded souls who are, for entirely different reasons, plunged into a devastating life or death crisis. Ms. Alexi paints such vivid portraits of her characters that they almost seem to be standing right before you. Her character development and exploration allow the reader access to the hearts and minds of her subjects in a way that shows a keen understanding of the frailties and triumphs of humanity. And the setting...every time I sit down to read I am transported to beautiful Greece. Another stunning book by this up and coming author. Another book I would love to see as a film.

GREAT AUTHOR and GREAT STORYLINES AND CHARACTERS!
Sara Alexi's Greek Village Series "takes you there" and you form "relationships" with her characters! You don't have to read them in order, but there are a few things that will play out differently if you do not with a couple of the books. Sara's writing is so descriptive - while not being overly wordy - you'll feel like you are really there! These are really wonderful reads with relate-able issues! You should really read them all, starting with The Illegal Gardener. I first read this on my Kindle, as it was offered as a freebie, and I loved it! I have now bought all of Sara's books (which are only offered in paperback) and they now reside on my bookshelves. Only my favorites go there! ;)

Beautiful, Colorful and Insightful
Sara writes from her soul. This book delves deep into furthest corner of the characters mind and reveals their tormented past. In the detailed indepth way that Sara describes every little thing energizes your senses and transports you within the moments.Every nuance, every smell, color, texture is so detailed it is amazing. I LOVE the Greek Village Series and am amazed that Sara regularly writes these books which are so intricately detailed. Sara Alexi is an incredibly gifted writer that transports you into the village. Each story is laced with compassion and empathy within the characters and it makes you think and realize how much you personally have to be grateful for and makes you strive to appreciate every little thing more. I wish there were 10 stars, these books are treasures. Thank You Sara Alexi!

A closer look at characters you've come to love.
As you read through the Greek Village stories, you come to feel as if you know these characters. Reading Watching the Wind Blow not only gives you more information about and draws you closer to Rini, but also challenges you to look beyond the surface and risk reaching out to others. As usual, the characters are so well developed that they seem like old friends, and the story-telling draws you in, making it difficult to step away, even for a moment. Take a break from every day life and curl up with Watching the Wind Blow, and then think about who in your life could benefit from a gift of your time and willingness to listen to their story...to their heart.

A wild Greek adventure ..
Yet another compelling story in the Greek Village series. This story,, their stories pose many the moral and ethical conundrums which give the reader much to ponder. Set mainly at sea, this tale is one of adventure and romance. The characters in "Watching the Wind Blow" are unconventional and interesting. There are knife edge moments to this plot which I enjoyed very much. The story gives the reader insight into lives beyond the village and the forces that shape Greek life at large. If you are a fan of this series I commend this tale to you.

Another superb story by Sara Alexi !
I loved this book, as I loved all of the Greek Village books. Sara Alexi has her own collection folder on my Kindles. I am fascinated by the way of life in that part of Greece, the ways that the people find to remain happy, involved in life and holding on to many customs of the past.I was never interested in Greece (no insult to the country intended) till I read Ms Alexi's wonderful stories.Since I will never get to Greece, I can live there while reading the books.I've read the first 7 two times..and expect to read them many more times. My sincere congratulations and thanks to a superb story teller.

High emotions on the high seas
Sara Alexi writes the Greek Village series, and this is the ninth in this gentle and charming collection of the acute observation of pastoral life. But wait, turn a few pages and here we have a boat stolen by an armed escapee, a gun-shot wounded mercenary, possibly terrorist. He is a wanted man, desperate to escape arrest by the authorities and make his way to Casablanca to renew his military man-for-hire career. However, trapped on board is the boat cleaner, a villager, Irini, the daughter-in-law of Marina. In hot pursuit are police boats, playing a cat and mouse game to bring his escape to a possibly violent end. Meanwhile, Irini has brought her own demons aboard, which are revealed as both their stories emerge. This book appears to be a departure in pace and content from earlier books, but still written in the entertaining manner that followers of Sara Alexi have come to appreciate. Every time I read the latest book in the series, I decide that is my favourite. I didn't think that the romantic heart-string-pulling of the 8th book could be surpassed, but I was wrong. This is an excellent book, a shade darker than anticipated, but once again a brilliant and recommended read.

Irini and her Pirate!
The story is about Irini who is settled in a happy comfortable marriage with Petta, has a small baby son and her mother in law Marina. However she was an orphan and had a very hard earlier life which still haunts her. Unfortunately she can't discuss it with Petta as it distresses him so she stews with it. One morning she heads to Captain Yorgas ship for her usual cleaning job when she and the boat she is on is abducted. What follows is an amazing experience where Irini finds release and a kindred spirit via her abductor who truly understands her. Her life changes forever in more ways then one - the ending is both tragic and hopeful for a better future.Captain Yorgas attempts to woo Marina were hilarious. Good to know she still has it in her :) As for the abductor all I will say is I really wanted a redemption for him and a new beginning and in a way he did redeem himself but not quite in the way I was hoping for him. This book is priceless. I am now going to stop saying which is my favourite in the series because each time I do a new one appears that surpasses the one before it. Usually by the fourth or fifth book a series usually starts to deteriorate but this is not the case with this author and this series. Each book just gets better and better each time. So I will say please continue Sara.

Another gem from Sara Alexi
Another gem from Sara Alexi. In this the 9th of the Greek Village series the action takes place, not in the village, but at sea. Irini has a job cleaning Captain Yorgos boat but before she has completed her tasks she feels the boat moving. It has been hijacked by 'Sam' a mercenary who is on the run. What follows is so heartbreaking as the two disclose to each other painful issues from their past which they have kept bottled up. It reminded me of the words of a song 'the people were saying, no two were ere wed, but one had a sorrow that never was saidβ Irini wanted to tell her husband Petta about her traumatic past but the right time never happened. Sam also had issues from his childhood that he carried with him as well. We can see how the situation affected those left behind. The situation is resolved and we can hope that 'Sam' is at peace. Certainly Irini's financial worries are at an end and we realise that strangely being on the boat with the pirate 'was a wonderful thing' Highly recommended..

The ninth in the series and the fourth I have read. A superb offering from Sara Alexi and in keeping with the others I have read there is always a new angle. A tale of two, or more, people thrown together by circumstance to re-live the trauma of their past and find some reason and comfort in each other's actions. The outcome is not what you, or the characters (apart from one) expect. If you haven't read any of the Greek Village Series then don't despair, you can start with this and go back to the others. They are brilliantly written in a parallel and overlapping timeline that allow you to jump in on any book and still enjoy earlier ones to the full. Sara also maintains a facebook page with an active and dedicated following.

About human nature, its' strengths and frailties.
Another brilliant book by Sara Alexi. This story addresses one of the dangers of island life, and the frailties of humanity. Irini is happily married with a 2 year old son. Life was not always happy for her, as she was home;less for a while after her only family member, her granny, died.. However, this experience enables her to empathise with the feelings of a young man who steals the boat she is cleaning. The young man did not realise that she was on board. As he tries to escape to a new life, he gets talking to Irini, and appreciates her understanding of him. This is a story that makes the reader think about the desperation that leads some people to commit crimes.
