hello it could be used but it is better to use high temp paint as this one may not stand up to heat generated by brakes and could peel off.

Q: Does it work for polystyrene, acrylic and abs, such as with gundam models?

Dont know about polystyrene,but should work well as an undercoat for acrylic paint.
