Just the right amount of melatonin but tough to swallow.
Previously, I had been taking 10mg melatonin tabs which were too high a dose if I wake in the middle of the night and need some assistance getting back to sleep. I ordered these 5mg tabs for just those times - when I do not have long enough to sleep off a full 10mg - but I also feel good about taking 2 tabs to start the night if I'm stressed and restless. These tabs are not easy-melts like the 10mg tabs I have from the same brand. The tabs are small enough, but the chalky texture makes them a challenge to swallow if I take too small a sip of water. However, once the tabs are down, I feel their relaxing influence within 20-30 minutes and am able to fall peacefully to sleep. On a very rare occasion, I will wake in the middle of the night with a racing mind and will take another tab to ease back to sleep. I do not get dependent on these tabs for sleep, and they work great for the occasional stressful times when I struggle with relaxing and initially falling asleep.
