Pretty Hook
Although I do like the color, the wood, the weight and the tip decoration I'm not thrilled about using the hook because of the finish. I'm a bit OCD with things like crochet hooks and although the yarn glides across this hook's finish with no trouble and the tip is sharp enough but not so much to hurt yourself and the catch of the hook is deep enough, the finish feels like it's coming off. After only using the hook for a few minutes it literally feels like the wood finish is on my fingers. As it warms up to your touch it takes on a gummy feel and the yarn begins to stick a bit.

Slippery Hook
The hook is carved beautifully and the finish is also beautiful. Problem I'm having is the hook is kind of to sharp at the tip and my yarn keeps slipping off the hook...sadly, I cannot use it now. However, I will give it a try another time.

Pristine
Got this beauty in the mail 4 days after I ordered it, and it came in pristine condition. When you look at it closely, it has a red amber to black texture and a smooth feel. Did I also mention I love the cute little carved bottom the hook has? This particular size is hard to find in stores, and I was happy to find one here. If your a die hard crocheter or just beginning to learn, I say give it a shot. It's perfect for making Afghans, scarfs, pillows, anything goes.

I love it
Rosewood crochet hooks are awesome to use due to the smoothness and balance of the hook. I have several rosewood crochet hooks, and I love them all.

A lovely item to own, hold and use.
A piece of artwork in its own right, this hook adds the feel of elegance to my touch of creativity.

I fell in love with the chunky yarns and after watching outlander and saw Claires gorgeous cowls I wanted to make some - especially seeing the prices in stores. I bought a plastic P hook and crocheted away. Saw these Rosewood on Fabric.com and ordered a few sizes - m,n,o & p. I also got a G and my recommendation is not to go that small - they are very delicate looking. I can see them cracking off easily. I think J on up is fine. I adore these hooks. They are smooth with a slightly sharper hook on the end. I am using Lion's Pride Woolspun (btw a most excellent chunky yarn) and Charisma and am getting no splitting at all. One review I saw talked about this compared to Woolease - no comparison in my book. I am now rebuying some sizes so in case they break I have a spare, plus friends have asked me to teach them so I will use them that way. Since some of the more elite hook manufacturers have decided that J is as high as you need go I'm thrilled I could find these.

Rosewood Hooks are the Bomb
These hooks are so lovely, to use and to look at. The are smooth so they don't snag your yarn, and they are light weight enough that you don't get hand fatigue from holding them for prolonged periods, they are big enough around so people like myself who have both carpal tunnel and arthritis can hold them comfortably. Truly a wonderful additional to your collection of hooks; I have a number of these (all in larger sizes), and would not trade them for the world. Best investment ever.
