Easy to use
Does glow in the dark coin counter is so cool. I was really pleased with how easy it was to work and how easy it is to retrieve the money after it's been put in. If you're anything like me and you like to put dollar bills in with the extra change, the counter still would work for that, not the conventional way but it has a plus sign on it or you can add as well as a minus sign where you can subtract whatever you take out. It's really easy to use. Two Triple-A batteries go on the base of the lid. You need a screwdriver to open it so if you're giving this to a child, you don't have to worry about that as a huge hazard. The reset button is also on the face of the lid. You won't accidentally press it because it's deep set within the lid. To turn it on comma you either start inserting coins or you can press the plus or minus Keys down for 3 seconds. These Keys also Aid if your amount changes. If you add bills like I mentioned earlier, you can press the plus sign to get that amount in there or if you take money out, you can hit the minus sign and it goes down by one penny so you just press that as many times as the cents that you took out. The fact that it was just makes it that much more fun. It's an added night light in the house that requires no electrical energy, which is even better for the pennies being saved. It's really cool and I'm so glad we have it. I had no idea we had this much change in the house! I could definitely see this as a gift for anyone Kama as everyone uses money, and it's a lot of fun to use. I received this coin counter at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Finicky, but fun
You will need a TINY screwdriver to add the (not-included) AAA batteries. As I was adding coins, I noticed the dimes were registering as pennies, so I did a few tests. Reset button works well. the Add/Subtract buttons: only press/hold the button you need to use. I added 21 dimes, and 3 registered as pennies, so keep an eye on your coins as you put them in the bank if you want an accurate tally. The mechanism that registers coin size is tight, so be prepared to go a little slow as you add your coins. A few minutes in the sun gave it enough charge to glow faintly, so I think if I left it outside or under light for the recommended 25m-1h, it would glow well.

good enough
I'm giving it a 3 star because it's good enough. It is quite difficult to shove each coin into the bank. If you don't push the coin all the way in the first time, it counts the value and you must delete that amount before you continue. Children are mostly unable to insert the coins (5-7) year old grandsons in my experience without them miscounting and the 5 year old could not insert the quarters himself. It barely glows and the color is nothing like the description photo. That being said: In a total of $75.00 of coins it miscounted it to be $75.90. In my daughter's words, it;s a 'piggy bank' if it's close that's "good enough".

Best gift for kiddos
Ought as Xmas gifts for my niece and nephew. When they heard how much they could save in coins AND could see how much they’ve collected, they were excited, saying they were going to be rich! Lol. Great to help kids learn to save, math, and patience.

Worked only for 2 minutes, extremely cheap quality..
My daughter has been using a jar for her piggy bank , so I was excited to find this , since it can keep track of how much it is , instead of her having to go to grocery store and use coinstar machine. She opened it up , put batteries in , and tested it with a couple coins and it worked. She went to her bed room to grab her jar of coins and start loading them and it stopped working , the display was blank as if it was off or batteries were dead, tried replacing with three sets of new batteries and still nothing, tried hitting the reset button , nothing. Was very disappointed , and the quality of this was absolute garbage, looks like it cost less then a dollar to make. Made in China , not surprised. I recommend everyone to stay away from it. I even emailed the vendor direct and let them know what was going on, the email was on a piece of paper that came with it , saying they stand by there product and if I have difficulties I can emai them. I got no response , it’s been 4 days now. If there is another piggy bank I can find that counts I’ll be trying that , and I recommend others do the same and skip this one.

Its bigger than i expected. Easy to use. The only thing i dont like is that sometimes dimes and nickels don't count properly. So you put a dime in and it counts at a penny. Made a great gift for my husband since his change ends up all over the house!

Plastic is very thin. I got a clear one instead of the blue shade in the picture.
