First off, this book is so gorgeous. I love a book that has detailed photos to go with instructions and this book has tons of gorgeous photos to help you follow along. It covers all the basics to get started in both watercoloring and lettering but the best part has to be the projects section.Sometimes you'll want to paint or letter something and not have any practical applications for it. This book totally gives you tons of ideas on how to incorporate your lettering and painting into daily life. My favorite project so far is the watercolor gift tags. I can't stress how easy it was to follow along with Jess and make these one of a kind tags.I love that it covers so much in such a compact book. I'm sure I'll have to go over it again and again to get to everything. In the meantime, I look forward to using this book to help me with some holiday projects like making more gift tags and holiday decor.It's a MUST GET book if you love Jess' style of loose florals and whimsical script! It has a little of something for everyone, whether you've never picked up a paint brush before or you've been doing it for a while. This book offers an intro to basics like supplies, color theory, basic techniques but also dives into all the different ways you can apply what you've learned.

I bought it for my son, who is obsessed with all things glittery and bright, and he immediately set to work on the fruit illustrations and birch landscape.I tried my hand at it too — I’m no artist, but I was satisfied with the results! They will be on display in my kitchen to brighten up the house this winter. Can’t wait to see what else my son and I can come up with!

This is a great book for people who love hand lettering and hand coloring everything! I've only recently started to do modern calligraphy with brush pens, but this will take my calligraphy skills to the next level with beautiful watercolor artwork as well! I really love how detailed each chapter is as it gets down to the nitty gritty details of each technique and it also has exercises to practice on as well! I just did the raindrop exercise last night and it was so much fun! I'm following the book chapter by chapter so I'm so excited to keep practice and improving with this awesome book as my guide to creating beautiful watercolor artwork!

I have so many watercolors, and I've been meaning to teach myself how to paint with them and now I don't have an excuse! Honestly, this book is so easy to follow and truly a wonderful guide. It goes over the basic principles of watercolor painting - what you're going to need, color theory, how to hold a brush, etc - as well as how to correctly letter. Park devotes a whole section on the right type of brushes and paints and papers which is super helpful for a beginner like me!! I also love that the lettering section has arrows on the letters to show you the correct direction and steps of your strokes. It's a nice introduction to watercolors and embellished scripts, with beautiful photos and easy steps!

This is the greatest book for learning how to do watercolor lettering. The book is beautifully illustrated and “how to” pictures are very detailed. Tools needed for watercolor lettering are very reasonably priced and readily available, if you already do not have them. There are directions and pictures for making different looks with the same technique. Example line drawing using wet, dry, more pressure and less pressure give all different results. I like that this book also has techniques for making pictures of flowers, fruits, and plants, along with making lower and upper case lettering. Practice sheets are not given, but one could copy the pages with directions for making each letter. This book with provide hours of fun learning a new technique.

It's wedding season so we've been trying out a lot of different books to up our watercolor and lettering game. This is hands down one of my favorite books we've purchased so far! Not only is the book itself stunning, beautiful, silky-smooth pages full of delicate imagery but the author does an incredible job with step by step directions on how to make things happen! I didn't anticipate being able how to learn how to do an hombre but sure enough, the author even goes through how to do that! Seriously amazing!! I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to step up their watercolor and lettering game. And while none of my drawings came out as great as the authors, they were still pretty decent. Highly recommend.

This is one of the best books I've ever seen in a long time. I love how it has more step-by-step pictures than other watercolor books i had gotten. The book is not thick, and that's a bonus to me! Because i don't want to spend days to read a book that fulled of technical terms and eventually get lost in words. The explanation is clear and precise, which i like a lot. Simple, easy to understand and digest. Not only that, it also offered different lettering styles with blending techniques. I also love there are many small DIY projects you can follow along, such as painting gift tags, invitation cards, birthday cards, menu and much more. This is such a handy book for this holiday season. Not only i can create something for my friends and family, the book itself is also a good gift.

This book is AWESOME. I am a beginner in both watercolor and lettering, so I truly appreciate the excellent explanations, excercises and the beautiful and inspirational projects. The book itself is beautiful!

Si te gustan las acuarelas y el lettering, este libro es para ti. Excelente si no tienes muchos conocimientos y aun estas iniciando. Te habla desde los materiales para iniciar, tecnicas y algunos proyectos para practicar. Es excelente para relajarse con los ejercicios por la tarde. Muy bonito y aunque esta en ingles, Jess hace que la lectura sea comoda y facil de entender. Me encanto!
