This shows 2 different machines in the pictures, I thought it was the one with the arm, vs. the gold screw spindle version. The gold screw is horrible, it is virtually impossible to lower or raise the cheese, and as you turn, it unscrews the screw spindle from the base. The crests on the screw's threads are so sharp, that I cut my fingers deeply trying to hold it while I turned the cheese.

Overall it is a great product!Does its job. Easy to clean. Had several fun raclette parties with hopefully many mores to come.Only downside is that it is hard and awkward to store. Wish there was a simpler way to disassemble it for storing- also wished it came with a tool warning: my small wrench is too small to assemble/disassemble itAlso, please melt raclette cheese and not nacho cheese for raclette night (not like title of product suggests)

We love our raclette, it is such a fun entertaining idea. Get for parties. It work just like the ones in Europe. Great purchase.

The metal used to construct this is quite thin. I expected at this price that it would be more substantial. It does heat quickly and functions as it should, but it really isn't sturdy enough for a half wheel.
