Amazing book. The story of the gunge birthplace and movement told through the iconic photos of Charles Peterson. He adds his own narrative and experience which adds another dimension not only to his photos, but to the story of grunge. Also, this book comes with a rare find for any audiophile: A 1 track CD with several rare songs from the bands. 1 track. A genius and beautiful notion that to listen, you must listen with intent from beginning to end, and experience every band without discernment.

Charles Peterson has been one of my favorite photographers. I loved the way he captured the motion and emotion of a live show. Screaming Life is an awesome glimpse into the Pacific Northwest music scene of the 80s and 90s. Charles has a gift for portraits/photo journalism.You should also check out Charles Peterson's later work as his style has developed beyond the grunge shows.

I love this book. If you can get a copy that comes with the cd, do it. The music is so real, so encapsulating. I know you're going to love it, just as I do. My biggest recommendation is to get the book with the cd; I cannot stress this enough. You will feel the scene rise up in you. Ahhh...real, for once. In fact, leaf through the book while listening to the cd...it's an experience, to say the least.

purtroppo devo segnalare una pessima sorpresa. Il libro che ho acquistato usato è conservato piuttosto bene, anzi a parte i segni del tempo non reca alcun difetto. Il libro dovrebbe contenere un cd, ma in questo che mi è arrivato, ripeto acquistato usato, c'è la confezione ma il cd non c'è.Brutta bruttissima sorpresa, si compra l'usato accettando anche qualche lieve segno di usura, ma che un prodotto usato sia incompleto lo trovo negativo, al limite della truffa.
