Awesome fit for the MacPro, haven't had a problem using it!
This is installed "permanently" in the SD slot of a MacPro Retina. It becomes one with the Mac. It's easy to insert but also very easy to get it out with your fingernail (if you don't chew them ;)). So, it does what it's supposed to do and as advertised. It does look nice and as a part of the Mac body although I think the aluminum cap is a tad bit brighter that Mac's body without that being easily spotted. I use it with a 64GB microSD and so far it's been a thing I forget it's there. It shows up as another disk that I use and so far I didn't have an issue or a hick-up. Reboots, upgrades, sleep mode, all work without an incident (so far!). So, I do recommend it! It's an excellent way to extend the storage space of your MacPro without things extending out of the Mac body (like a use stick, even those with very low profile). The max of 128GB is adequate for that use. Don't know if that's a limit of the MacPro SD slot or the HyperDrive adapter to be honest. For my use, it's OK. And the speed is good enough although this is the speed of the microSD itself. I'm not using a super fast one but it works well as a secondary (removable) storage. I'm using it daily for a month now, without issues. Actually I forget it's there and THAT is the best part! I just use a Mac Disk name and that's all. I recommend it!

Looks great / Slow read-write speeds.
First off, the fit of this is a little tight into the MacBook Pro (thats what she said?). You need a small flat head screw driver to get the adapter out. If you are swapping this with a SD card often, this might not be the solution for you. That being said once inserted into the MBP (some joke here) it is flush with the case and looks seamless to the MBP.Speed is a big issue. Even with a class 10 ultra micro SDXC card the read/write speeds are way under what the internal drive is. I originally go this to augment the drive space of my MBP, by moving all my VM's to this drive. Boy did that not work. The guest VM would often lock up and freeze. Just trying to shut down the VM took what felt like an entirety. Now on the other hand it works great for static storage. For instance photos. I moved all my adobe aperture photos and data base to this adapter/sdxc combo and it works great.Just bare that in mind when buying its not fast storage.

so good, I have no complaints
I have tried the Nifty Drive (the real one, I once got stuck with a knock off) and it is easier to remove. However, it also stopped working. I have no idea wether sturdiness is an indication that the Hyper Drive will last longer, but it is sturdier. So far, so good, I have no complaints, other than the prospect of figuring out how to remove it. I think a paper clip might be useful. I would urge the maker of the Hyper Drive to include a removal point and implement, which would make the product more useful on the road.

Works as expected
This fits the 15" Retina flush, which is exactly what I wanted. I use this slot for my iTunes library and don't have any reason to remove the card. If I did, it does take a thumbnail to catch the edge and then slide out. Not all that difficult.

Looks great. Works great.
Fits flush and looks great. No problems with the throughput or operation at all. Seems like a lot to pay for an adapter, especially considering some of the cards themselves are close to this price these days, but it really is terrific if you are carrying your MacBook around with a µSD card. Frankly, I wish I would have gotten one of these two years ago.I specially chose this one because you did not need a special tool to remove it. It says removable with your fingernail, but I'm pretty sure I'd remove my fingernail first before prying this out. Then again, you're likely doing this for long-term use of the card, so you're not going to be extracting more than once a day, if that. But It's true that you don't need to be worried about losing the special tool, I just needed to use a paperclip or the end of a mechanical pencil - but you may have tougher nails than I.

This is probably the best little addition to any MacBook
This is probably the best little addition to any MacBook. I suggest the adapter because they will continue to make micro SD cards larger.

meh
It works, but the fit is way too tight -- requires a lot of force to insert, and basically won't come out without pliers or at least something solid for leverage.

This is perhaps the best one I have spent on my mac
This is perhaps the best one I have spent on my mac! It fits perfectly, build quality is great, and always connects. Very happy as this added real space to my limited ssd space!
