A Different Kind of Read
Ramona is a college student who's not had an easy road, and this book tells her story through snippets. It's an interesting read, and well-written, but it doesn't have a neat ending like most readers might expect. This is the first book in a series, so be aware, but the books are available through KU if you want to try it first. You'll know soon if this first person perspective works for you. ThisIs a voluntary review of an advance reader copy, although I picked up a forever copy as well.

*sigh* Prequals
I wanted to like this novella a lot more than I did. I'm not much of a fan of prequels or in-between novels, but I gave this a go ahead seeing as I was offered this as an ARC from the author providing an honest and unbiased review of it.Here was the main issue for me, I base how I like a book by many different factors, one being that if a book claims to be in a certain genre, then I expect it to actually be of that genre- meaning, having the certain elements and criteria that fit that particular drama. For some reason I thought this novella was suppose to fall within the realm of erotica, and although the beginning starts off pretty steamy, I realize it is a bit of a flash forward. When the present comes around, it gets a bit boring. Here is why I like erotica - because you don't really have to delve too deep into the characters and why they are they way they are. Erotica's are like the XXX porn of literature. You just don't care too much for a background story of a character(s) unless the author can do a really good job of making it absolutely necessary to the overall story. When you start diving deep into a story that is Erotica, it no longer is erotica to me, but a Sexy explicit Romance novel. Which is fine, if that is what this was marketed as. I didn't expect too much of this novella, because it's just a short prequel, but I expected more than what I read or maybe the word I'm looking for is less? Less descriptions, less mundane, day to day tasks and more steamy sex scenes. More build up to the main story of the following books in the series. This book wasn't horrible, thus why I'm not giving it lower than 3-stars. It just didn't fit what I had in mind, and that's not bad, I've read a lot of books that turned out to be something completely different that what I thought and turned out to be some of my favorite books. For me, this couldn't hold my attention very well. I'm curious on what the tone of the rest of the series is, so I will buy at least the next one to see if my opinion will change. Not the authors fault, it's just a state of mind for me. As I said in the beginning, prequels are just not my thing. I find them to be unnecessary and this book has not changed my mind of that notion. This book maybe for you, so give it a try.

Not for me
I have to admit, the story pretty much lost me the moment I found out the doctor was married. That kind of thing immediately turns me off, and had it been mentioned in the blurb, I probably wouldn't have been too keen on reading it. Just my personal preference. As for the story itself, the first chapter is all hot and heavy. It was a teaser scene to something that must happen later, however it never happens later in this volume. Then we're brought right to the present, and the story drags quite a bit with Ramona's day to day life. I know this is a serial type novel, and that's all the more reason you want something to grab you, you know? I needed that something to make me want to pick up the next book, and it just wasn't there. For such a short volume, you can't really afford to make it drag. Other reviewers have liked it though, so don't let me change your mind. This one just wan't for me.Doctor-Patient Confidentiality: Volume One by Eme Strife was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Leaves you hanging for more
I'm new to erotica. I'm open-minded and didn't know what to expect. The beginning of the story is very heated and I wasn't expecting that. But then it goes into the daily activities of the main character, Ramona, so it was just enough to keep me interested and not scare me away. After that opener, it was a bit hard to keep going. I tried a couple times to get into it and it was slow for me. That's sometimes expected of series and I don't usually read them but I'm glad I found this one. It was worth the wait. I started to feel more for the character and I was more interested. She wasn't fully developed and her back story is a bit of a mystery but it keeps you interested. Once I got to the end, I said out loud, "really?!" I wished I had the next book ready to go. I was so ready for it. I was left hanging and craving more! I can't wait to go on to the next book and get to know Ramona better and see what sexy shenanigans she gets into.

It's just the first free book
Well written. This is the first and only free book of a 12 - 13 book series. The rest are $3 each. More than I will spend on an e- book for sure. This book just takes you to the initial introduction of the main characters with background on one of them. Unless you want to spend over $30 then don't bother.

Too short, too expensive.
The story develops nicely and I would have been intrigued on how it continues but sorry, not for that price.

Open wide
I read an arc for an honest review. Starts hot and steamy but detours and slows down. Some very good initial elements but needs more cohesion and a better pace. I think there is a ton of potential with this story.

Wanting to read the lot
Wish I could afford to read the rest. But this was a great start. One day I might be able to get the rest of these books!
