Absolutely an improvement over the generic brands.
I have always been in the “a filter is a filter” camp and why should you spend 3x as much for the name brand as the off brands. Well, it absolutely makes a difference and is worth every penny. It simply tastes better. Period. Clean, crisp, without that tap water residue taste.A secondary benefit is its use in appliances. Specifically, my countertop ice maker needs to be cleaned about 1/2 as much as it did previously with this clearly filtering out much more of the hard water elements as my previous filters.
