Truck Tail Gate Assist Lift Support Shock Strut for 2007-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2500HD 3500HD GMC Sierra

Just found out about this from a fellow 2500 owner and I ordered it immediately. It was simple to install and works perfectly. I should have done this sooner.

Had right metric tools, 10 minute install. Easier lift on gate, softer landing.

Instructions could be better and shock tension stiffer.

The bracket and Allen bolt rusted within a couple weeks had to remove the product and resurface\ paint it. otherwise works perfectly.

This was amazing. As long as you follow the direction you can't go wrong. The only thing I will mention is the blind hole installation tool, I would recommend a little more description of what this thing is. This makes it possible for you to insert a bolt to hold the bottom plate in place. Make sure you tighten it before removing the installation tool. Overall super happy with the product.

Took some studying before install, which went well. Was missing flat head bolt to attach plate. Fortunately, I have assorted metric bolts and screws and found one that worked. Make sure that Nutsert is tight and don"t strip. Use lock tite on bolts and it doesnt come with kit. Probably blue.

Product works great, exactly as advertised and installation was a breeze. I did watch a how to video on the nut setting tool. Also as read on other reviews, there was no loctight included, which is a necessity. Think I paid $11at auto parts store for some. There’s blue and red. Get the BLUE. They both come in red bottles. The color of the lettering on bottle will have ‘loctight’ in blue for blue and red for red. RED is a permanent bond!
