Original Bamboo & BFF Bands
I am 5ft 2in, 170lbs pre-pregnany and 195lbs on the date of birth. I retained a ton of water during the birth so was extremely swollen everywhere afterwards.Under the belly bands, I wear a pregnancy compression undergarment that's just for the stomach. It helps reduce discomfort of the band digging in or if I'm hot, it helps alleviate moisture. You could even wear a thin tank top.I purchased the Original Bamboo version and followed the sizing instructions. With all my clothes before being pregnant, I've always worn L and XL so didn't trust the sizing chart. I went ahead and purchased both the Medium and Large just to be sure. 1 day post postpartum I didn't fit in the Medium, it was about 2 inches shy of fitting, so I kept the Large. I should have kept the Medium and waited about 1 week pp because I would have fit in it fine. My body just needed to get rid of all the water I was still retaining. About 3 weeks pp, the Large no longer fit; too big. One negative is the front of band has some kind of stiff material, like a board of some kind, and over time it becomes more flexible. I have a pooch stomach from the pregnancy and felt this board was not sinching my waist line because this board lost its stiffness and molded to my stomachs shape.4 weeks pp, I then purchased the Medium BFF band and love it. It is about 2-3 inches shorter than the Original Bamboo version, it hits the middle of my waist line and just below my hip bone. Definitely gives me a muffin top. The size fits perfect and I love the 2 straps, you can customize the top and bottom, however tight you need it. It doesn't have that stiff board, like what's in the Original Bamboo version. Both bands are comfortable, as long as I wear the stomach compression undergarment (or thin tank top). I'm 6 weeks pp and wear both bands together. I first put on the BFF, to customize how tight I want the band and molds to my body. I then put on over it, the Original Bamboo. I keep it up higher (loosely) just to cover up the muffin top :)

It fits me well ! This is good for small/ petite people
I ordered this as I will be recovering from abdominal surgery in a couple days. I have been advised to buy a binder. I am having laparoscopic, but possibly a C-section like scar type of surgery for radical hysterectomy.I ordered a few other binders on Amazon, none of them were small enough to fit me. It’s frustrating because you’re basically just going on reading reviews, photos, and what people say about the fit. I considered going to a surgical supply website, but I feel like it’s easier to look at the reviews and photos on Amazon, that’s how I like to shop at least.I am 5 foot five, 109 -112 pounds. 40 years old.I figure with surgery I will probably have some swelling but the other binders I ordered all seem to be made for larger people .I was worried about this one because it didn’t have a lot of good reviews. I’m writing this review for you petite and smaller women out there like me that are looking for a good belly binder that is comfortable with the good tension that will fit you well. There is plenty of room to spare on this binder if I need to go tighter, and there’s room if I swell.I can’t speak to those ladies using this as a pregnancy postpartum binder, but if you were having abdominal surgery and were advised by your surgeon to get something like this I feel like it’s going to give me excellent support and comfort.I’m a size 0, sometimes 2, my waist is about 24 inches measured at the true waist loosely.I just wanted to find some thing with the proper level of support and grip it seems like most of the things on Amazon and the photos were for bigger people. If you’re small like me (and can’t help it,) I hope this review helps you and your search. I’m sure if you were five or 10 pounds smaller it still might fit you maybe.Buy this one it’s worth the money, I looked at the luxe version as well and there was a wait time on it and it cost more so I think this one is comfortable enough. If I find myself needing another one I will totally splurge for the luxe version belly bandit

Major disappointment! Purchased for c-section recovery
Major disappointment! Purchased for c-section recovery. As the other reviews say, it fits great at first, but that fit quickly diminishes as the band bunches up with deep folds that never go away. It curls, it won't stay in place, it looks ridiculous under clothing that is even remotely form fitting - it is a waste of $80, and at a time when that money can go to more useful things. The packaging offers a BS disclaimer about the folds being intentional and that is just marketing to cover their ass. It's just a poor product. It may fit short waisted women with narrow hips great, but all other figures should beware. I wore it for the first week, and am now using the cheap band given to me by the hospital full time. As a side note for those concerned with sizing, I was worried the size I ordered would be a little too small, but a couple days after my surgery it fit.

Ok, but too expensive
Not great value for the $; too expensive. Run small; for shorter waists. Benefit over original band is the 2 flap adjustment which is better for curves. However, still folds/creases making it uncomfortable on the sides and back, just like original band. Fabric covering makes it less irritating to skin than original band.
