what is my weight today
I bought this scale because the scale I had for I am not sure how many years needed to be replaced. The old scale, I could get on it 4 times in a row, wait for it to zero out and then step on it again, and the numbers would be different, every time. So I bought this one, no batteries, it is strong, the numbers are big enough for old eye to see, it also has 4 pointer to set to point to what your weight is now, and a pointer to set what your goal is. There are 4 different pointers for more than one person to set their weight and set their goal, easy to use, just step on it , it is a little big, but it is easy to step on it where you will not lose your balance.

Worst Scale I've Ever Owned
If I wrote what I really thought this review would never be published so I'll keep to the hard facts. If zero stars was an option I'd still want there to be a negative star option. This scale has no value at all.1) Cheaply built - very light for a mechanical scale (in comparison to other ones that I've owned or used in my almost 67 years on this Earth. IMO the light build is the main source of this product's problems.2) Will not retain calibration - which - annoyingly - has to be repeated every single day and almost always within the same day.3) Once calibrated it consistently reads 8 to 10 lbs high (verified against a digital scale I have and the scale in my Dr.'s office. Come back 10 minutes later and get a different reading. This scale is so bad I didn't even bother contacting Amazon and asking for a return goods authorization for an exchange or refund. Not worth my time. In my opinion any exchange would be for an identically built cheap, inaccurate unit. I've already bought an additional $10 electronic digital scale at my local pharmacy that is dead on and matches my other scale and the one in my Dr.'s office within a couple of ounces to replace this totally lacking product.Don't waste your money on this scale.

Read this so you don't think yours is broken and play with that dial till it's zeroed before you say it dissent zero
So I was scared be cause I saw reviews saying" it doesn't zéro out and it's no accurate " when you zero it out I that the product was set to around 160 ish and I tried using the dial to dial it down to zero ,but it got stuck at 60 to 80 pounds. So I had a weird idea that the dial was a big circle (duh) so if it stops going one way maybe try going up till it goes past three hundred and goes back to zero so I did this, and I also thought that if it's limit is three hundred it might not move past it but so I stepped on and It went to my weight. This thing if zeroed in on zero ( which is not hard) I like ,really accurate I have some kettle bells around my house (those are a type of weight ) I had one that was 8 and one that is 20 pounds. So I thought I should put it on there and see how accurate it is and it went right to 20 and right to 8 for the kettle bells. Compared to my electric one for my electric one for the 20 pound weight said 22.34 or something like that and I was like seems accurate.but this mechanical one is really accurate so it doesn't fluctuate like one day for my electric one I will be 138 then that next day it goes up to 156 and I'm like I need to hop on a diet or something. Also this scale came with the bottom portion in metric units so it has pounds and kilograms

Nice size, easy to read
I like this scale because it has a large area to stand. I also like it because it is very easy to read. It does seem to not be exact, but within a couple pounds. You can get on and off several times in a row and be a pound or two up or down each time. But, if you don't need it to be exact, it is a nice scale. I had a similar one which my husband smashed under the garage door which had chrome around the numbers and that turned green which was kind of nasty so I prefer the white plastic on this one. I also like that you have little tabs you can set to track weight for multiple people in the family. It is large, but I like that feature. I tried several smaller ones at the store and felt like I was falling off~

It's lying to me to get on my good side (not working...)
I had really wanted an analog scale with tabs you can mark different weights. This looked to be the one. However when it showed up it was lower quality then I had hoped. When I received my scale the plastic disk which has the numbers printed on it was rotated so where the '0' was supposed to be there was '20' instead. Flipping the scale over I found I could easily stick my fingers up through the bottom without taking the scale apart and spin the numbers so they again lined up to where they should be. The glass covering the numbers and red rotating hand was about 2 inches above the numbers. Thus when trying to mark a weight with the little colored tabs it is hard to tell what exact number they are pointing to. All this I could have lived with however the main issue I had with the scale was it's inaccuracy. Stepping onto the scale registered 165 (sounded about right however that meant I had lost about 8lbs). I then bounced up and down (not jumping, just little bounces) and after 5 bounces it then registered 170 (loosing 3lbs sounded more likely then 8lbs). Got off, and on, off and on, and each time it would register 165 or there about, until I bounced it to 170. Not what I expect from a scale.

Taylor Scale is the "cat's meow".
We have had this model of Taylor scale for at least 10 years. We have found it to be accurate, easy to use, readable from the person standing on it, easy to keep clean, convenient to stand on(plenty of foot-space), reasonable in cost.If there is any aspect needing a change, it is the metal used for the scale. I note that after some years, the edges of the scale are rusting a very small amount. The scale seems to be painted metal, so the company might want to consider a different coating for the metal or to use, for example, stainless steel. We like the plastic weight markers that are around the scale meter, as one can slide one of the 4 markers to a target weight one wants to achieve, ormark where one is so that changes can be seen at a glance, etc.Tannyscot 5 Dec 2009
