Received with a damaged high-pressure hose.
First machine was delivered with a badly damaged high pressure hose. The outer sheath torn away in several places.After some confusion, (Amazon said to contact Makita for a replacement hose. Makita replied it was Amazon's responsibility for the first 30 days ????). Amazon then agreed to a replacement which duly arrived.The H.P. hose supplied with the replacement also shows some signs of scuffing ( !! ) but I have decided to accept it. I doubt if it is a serious problem.Another thought re: the H.P. hose:The external threads on the washer and hand-piece are brass but the internal threads on the H.P. hose are aluminium.This is a bad idea. Aluminium threads have a tendency to gall.I have put a thin smear of water-pump grease on mine which has made the application and removal a lot better.Conclusion:Apart from the fact that Makita ( or their OEM hose supplier ) seem to have a lack of quality control the washer itself works well.D.
