Products Inc. Hughes Flying Boat Spruce Goose 30 DUM322 Wooden Kits Airplane

My first balsa model,Not finished yet, but so far it is coming together without many issues, looks cool and is fairly big with a 30" inch wingspan. Although it doesn't seem to say anywhere on the package it is approximately 1:128 scale. The instructions are clear enough, wood is of good quality. It takes many tubes of super glue. Fun project to work on a little here and there, and worth the price. I probably won't use the tissue provided to cover the skeleton instead Ill leave it bare and hang it on the wall. The tissue is gray and the plastic pieces are white and I used silver plasti-dip I had left over to spray the plastic and they came out perfect looks like the real deal. Although it says it is a flying model I don't see anything in the kit that would help it fly i.e. rubber band motors or something. So I suppose it means flying model in the sense that you could throw it, but it seems a little fragile for that. So far I am impressed overall.

Very difficult assembly instructions are very vague tried to contact the company several times with no response what a waste of money

Great model for the money

I finally got around to building the Spruce Goose. The laser-cut materials are easy to remove and the balsa is okay. That said some of the framing pieces/sticks are clearly sub-standard. In particular, the 1/16"x1/16" and the 1/16"x1/8" pieces. I have been building models for nearly 70 years, and the balsa in this kit is awful to work with. The most lite/slight pressure on the listed pieces can and likely will result in breakage.This is my second Dumas model. I previously built the BeeGee Racer. I don't recall the sub-standard pieces included in that kit.

An excellent model! Well laid out and easy to read plans.

Zero stars would be more accurate. If you buy you can’t say you were not warned. Waste of money. Wood and tissue paper. Terrible is an abundantly generous description.

Hard to build. The instructions small print with no photos. Not recommended
