Thank you Swordsaxe!
I bought this from swords axe and it came totally sharpened. This thing is huge. For an expensive sword I think the sword is worth the money. The sheath isn't though. I just think for an expensive piece the sheath should be a little nicer. The sheath doesn't have any layering inside just wood, which isn't bad, but the blade has a tight fit inside. The sheath also seems to be made out just wood with some sort of faux leather or just paint on the exterior, not sure. The sword itself is amazing. It is well over five feet. The handle is crafted very nicely all one piece of hard wood edged as a hexagon. Mine came completely sharp and with a certificate authenticating it as sugoi steel. I couldn't be happier. It is very heavy so handle it with caution. Also I mine came very very sharp, not dull at all. The blade and hilt seems firm, but It just came today. I may change this review in a month or so to see how it fairs. Just wish the sheath had a thick leather outside. I literally think its just painted paper, rolled tightly outside it. Still a 5 star sword, not sheath lol.Edit- the weight of this sword is very dangerous for the wooden handle. after much swinging the wood has cracked along the handle. The sword was not hit on anything ever, just swung around in an open field many times. Very heavy. Much force goes into the handle when swung. The wiring wrapped around the handle keeps the wood tightly in place regardless. Its just a crack, but its a heavy sword. Im thinking of adding leather wrapping around the handle. That would look so cool here

A Total P.O.S.
Don't waste your money!Yes, it's big... Huge in fact, but that's about it. As far as being functional, it's actually useless. All that I can say is that it's solidly put together, but it would be hard to say it's functional when it's too heavy to be useful. a sword of this size/style would be reasonable at about seven pounds (in fact the "real" Krom Killer from Ronin/SBG weighed in at well under seven pounds) but this sword-like-object weighs a ridiculous NINE POUNDS FOUR OUNCES! Nearly three pounds heavier than a well made Great Sword. The sword-like-object isn't sharp at all out of the box. In fact I would describe the edge as being blunt by design, like a stage prop. The sword that I received is significantly different than the one pictured, with a different and totally inaccurate (historically) pommel and the "shoulder" created at the point where the blade widens (ricasso) looks like an afterthought that someone added at the last minute. To sum it up, this "sword" is a poorly built copy made by people who might know how to work steel, but wouldn't know a good sword if they sat on it . DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS LOUSY EXCUSE FOR A SWORD!If you happen to own a boat, this could be re-purposed as an anchor.

I would have paid more for this sword!
I have many swords in my collection, this sword is my largest by far. I am a HEMA sword enthusiast. This is a thrusting instrument and not for cutting! If you don’t know how to use a great sword it’s not for you! All the low star reviews are probably from buyers thinking it’s used like a long sword, but it’s too heavy and balanced differently (it’s balanced for thrusting). This swords point of balance is at the guard so it maneuvers nice for an 7.75 lb. sword. The wooden grip is not comfortable and the wire wrap is poorly done(my only disappointment). The pommel is enormous like a sledge hammer. This sword was made for very heavy combat and would go through armor like butter. I am very pleased. I would have paid much more for this sword, so it is a steal at this price! The steel is good, the balance is good, the quality is good for the money, a fully functional heavy sword. It is not a toy!.......Its been a about a year since I wrote the above review, and I still love this sword. Its an awesome weapon. VERY deadly in expert hands, a katana is no match for this sword. The large sledge hammer pommel will bash down doors, the blade will go right through walls and doors etc. This thing is scary!....love it! However I recently disassembled it. It has a threaded pommel glued on with epoxy putty. Epoxy putty was also packed into the handle and guard... not exactly forged, but still solid.Update #2- I removed the wire wrap around the handle and smoothed out the rough edges. I re lacquered the walnut handle. I removed almost a pound of metal by thinning out and re shaping the guard see pic. It now weighs 6lb 13 5/8 oz. Much better !!! I don’t know why the other reviews say 9 or 11 pounds, yikes !I plan to reshape the pommel next. To lighten it further and move the point of balance forward. I love this sword. It is stiff enough for battle but quite flexible and bends almost 90 degrees without warping. It was worth the money when I purchased it and now it’s even better. It’s quickly becoming my favorite sword. I’m thinking of purchasing another one.

It's the last of a product line thus a lower price tag is given It has a historically correct edge with no secondary bevel
Pros:It has historical accurate weight and balance. It's hand crafted from high quality steel. It's the last of a product line thus a lower price tag is givenIt has a historically correct edge with no secondary bevel and not sharp like a razor. (more like a correct chisel sharpness)I have tested this blade it has a better cutting/chopping power by design than "most" axes as i have cut a green log the same size as a fort wall spike in just a few lops!Cons:Comes with a poorly made scabbard ( which is no problem really historical blades of this size never used them for wearing)Pros again: The poorly made scabbard can be use to keep the blade preserved when not in use and hidden from the elements. (such as storage and or oil wearing off)Folks do not let this item pass you by, get it and use it for heavy sparing in armor or doing cut tests for training.

and this sword was the first to disappoint me.
The information supplied when I was buying it implied it was a real, edged weapon. It really seems more of a decorative sword, and the wire wrapping on the grip was loose. I have purchased several swords and cutlasses form vendors such as Cold Steel, and this sword was the first to disappoint me.
