LEGOIdeas 21301 Birds Model Kit

My children aged 13, 11.5 and 9 all love to play with Lego sets. For Christmas I wanted a new set that would appeal for the pre-teen and teen female sect. When I saw these lovely birds, I fell in love! My girls also fell in love when they received them Christmas morning.I have found that there is not a big enough section for girls in this age group and would love if Lego would release more nature inspired themes for adults, young ladies or animal lovers. Building the birds was pretty simple per my 11.5 and 13 year old. The instructions included were great and easy to understand. I love how elegant the birds look with the included name plates on the base. My newest obsession has become birds and these Lego pieces really fit the bill. They stand well enough alone and they even rock a tad.Highly recommend this Lego set for any Lego lover, teen, bird lover and Lego aficionado. Priced right around other Lego collector sets.

Niece was hoping Santa would bring Legos. Needless to say the whole family got her some sort of Lego gift. This was the highlight of all the gifts. It received nothing but "awwww"s. Most Lego kits, as we all know, are based on modern day machinery, robots, destructive stuff, and man-made objects. Offering my niece an alternative to those, with something that is nature-driven is priceless to me.She is going to spend hours looking at the beautiful bright colors on these birds, and constructing each part of them, that I know wholeheartedly she will spend more time admiring nature. She's going to see a cardinal in the front yard, notice its beak, and point at it saying "I built one of those!".Much better than guns, robots, and houses.A LOT of little pieces, and each bird is like 100 steps (each step is on an individual page -- in which each bird has its own individual booklet).

these models are a thrill to learn how to build and each one exhibits a perfect design of a man that devoted himself totally to sharing this work with the world. The directions were easy to follow and each model created an amazing array of perfectly designed bricks and complete balance that easily Brough each species to life.

This is the most awesome Lego set EVER! Not only is each bird really cool but each one comes with its own book that tells all about each bird species. I hope Lego makes more of these down the road. I have them on display and they look like art instead of "toys". We love Lego in this house but I will say this is my favorite set we have put together. I would say this is probably more geared to an adult builder but it was not difficult to put together at all.

I am a birder and absolutely had to have this! It is an incredible product and the birds were so much fun to put together. I only wish Lego would release more of these bird model kits in the future. I have my eye on Thomas Poulsom's soon to be released book, Birds From Bricks: Amazing Lego Designs That Take Flight. But, given how popular and well received Poulsom's Lego Bird Model Kit was, I can't understand why Lego wouldn't manufacture more of Poulsom's Lego bird creations and offer a series of Lego Bird Model Kits. I would be so excited if there were other kits available with different birds to build. I am a big fan and would no doubt purchase any other Bird Model Kits if they were to become available in the future.

We absolutely love this Lego set it is so pretty it reminds us of Charlie Harper paintings. It’s the bluebird that really reminds us of Charlie Harper because of the bluebird in Charlie Harper’s paintings that look exactly the same. And we have a hummingbird feeder and love to watch them eat their food and so this really is a personal favorite it’s. It’s a little expensive but it’s so pretty and we are happy with your purchase

This is an amazing looking kit. My little brother wanted this for his birthday so I purchased it for him. The price was great for Legos and it was an easy and quick build. Loved this set. It was unfortunately built too quickly, but, I knew it would be based on the piece count. They are a bit fragile, particularly the hummingbird. I have them on my desk at work and enjoy looking at them. Hopefully Lego will release more bird models in the future. Set has a couple unique pieces I haven't seen elsewhere. Also, interesting approach to building so that I did have to pay more attention than usual to the directions, particularly how often the piece is rotated.I think this set would be enjoyable for even people who may not normally select Lego's.
