Penn-Plax Aerating Action Ornament, Barrel of Jewels - Opens and Closes - Small

I bought this for a three gallon cylinder tank, and while it's really too big for it, I still love it. It's colorful, detailed, and adorable (if you can call a ghostly, sunken ship adorable). Since I can't use it in my tiny tank, it is going to have some glow in the dark paint added and be used in a glowfish tank for my step son. I haven't tested the movement action yet, but I'm excited to try.My only critique is what others have said. It IS very light and will need weighed down with something like gravel. Other than that, it's perfect.

This animated treasure chest adds a lot of fun to my kids fish tank. They love seeing it open and close. Keep in mind though that you would need an airpump to make it work. With an air pump, it works very well and adds a lot of fun to the fish tank!

It does not come with a bubbler. I attached one and the lid doesn't close, just stays open while the bubbler is on. The chest isn't that heavy, so I had to bury it well into the gravel lest it float up. It seems a little flimsy. Nothing broke, but the pearl necklace shifted a bit while I was trying to sink it into the gravel and the lid can open at a funky angle if you're not careful. Overall, the manufacture looks great and feels cheap.It's adorable. The betta seems interested in it. It fits nicely into a 5-gallon tank without being overwhelming. It's more a key piece of side decoration. Most importantly, nothing seems sharp or jagged or in any way a danger to the betta's long and delicate fins. It being betta safe was the most important feature for me.

This item looks cute but doesn't work well. The biggest issue is that the whole thing floats and keeps randomly floating up in the tank. Just burying the base in the aquarium gravel did not hold it down, we had to pile larger rocks all around the base to keep it from floating and it still occasionally comes loose. The lid also does not open and close with the air bubbles, so it is just permanently open with continuous bubbles coming out.We had a treasure chest from same maker that worked fine, it was also cheaper, did not float and the lid opened and closed... so this was a bit disappointing.

It's the same size, but the inside is white, the outside is light blue and white. This is not a monitor difference. I haven't hooked it up to bubbles yet.

What a great classic fish tank decoration. Works well.

Looks great in tank! Others complained it wouldn't stay down, I simply added aquarium gravel inside ship half's!
