Pen with Light, Light Up Ballpoint Pen, Bright Lighted Pens for Writing in the Dark Led Light Flashlight Nurses Pen with Light Tip 1 Pack Penlight-Red Light

I've been looking for years for a decent pen with a red light at the tip so I could write down my dreams and other nighttime thoughts without getting out of bed - or even waking up fully! Most 'pen-lights' that I have tried have a bright white light that would really wake me up fully. But anyone who's ever used a darkroom to develop photographs knows, a red light let's you see but doesn't change your sensitivity to light. As a result, I am able to return to sleep more easily.That being said, this pen is still quite bright, as you can see in the photos taken in my pitch black bedroom. Still, it's much easier on the eyes and less disruptive to my state of consciousness at the time. I imagine it will get a little dimmer as the batteries wear down and that would still be fine. Speaking of which, a spare set of batteries were included with the pen, as were 4 black ink, 1mm (medium point) refills.The pen has a nice weight to it, it writes smoothly, the clicking mechanism feels solid and even though I've only used it a few days, I imagine it will function without problems for a long time.

I work midnights as a police officer and am always looking for a light source when I write notes. Usually it is the flashlight under my arm or in the crook of my neck, but not anymore! I love these pens so much, I bought enough to give everyone on my shift. These things are awesome and a must have for night shift workers!

Excellent pen. Ink writes smooth. It has a nice weight in your hand. And the light at the tip is awesome for night writing. I am a nurse and I can make readable notes without disturbing patients. And it comes with refills! 2 improvements needed. The light should be separate so you can turn it on separately (every other click the light goes on). And offer additional refills separately. Otherwise, pretty close to a perfect writing instrument. I will be getting more.

update: after 1 week, using it 15 minutes each night, the light is now dimming every other time I double click. Banging it fixes it. Switch failure or batteries dead after 1 week? Dunno. But it also won’t write at 45 deg. anymore. I have to adjust my hand and my clipboard to write. In short, I don’t trust this pen to write or light anymore after 1 week. Drawer Trash

I seldom write reviews of the items I buy on Amazon, however, for the Yacig Multi Functional Pens, I feel I must. At 72, my eyesight is not what it was, and I have difficulty seeing in the dusk or poorly lit areas. The LED light on the pen solves this problem and I can now see what I am writing clearly. As far as comfort goes, I am able to hold it easily and it is much more comfortable than the thin pens I was use to. Also, it has helped my “shaky” handwriting with the smooth writing ink without smudging or smearing. It comes with a spare refill as well as spare batteries, something I have not seen elsewhere. They say, “30 day no-hassle refund & return for 100% satisfaction”, and I must say they live up to that statement. I had one issue and they handled the issue completely and quickly. Mandy, the support representative was quick to respond and resolved my issue very fast and her follow-up was impressive. My wife writes critiques of plays and takes notes during the plays (in the dark). I bought her one of each color to see which one would be noticed the least by the audience around her. The white light is bright and more noticeable by others in the dark than the red or blue, but all 3 provide great lighting. She loves them! I use to have several pens on my desk, but now, the only one I use is my Yacig Multi Function Pen.

My to-do list ideas come at night and my husband hates when I turn on a night light, or my phone so I could see what I was doing. I use blue or red for evening writing and they "roll" so beautifully across paper which is a must for me since most of my notes are in script.
