First impressions! Great quality and sturdy!
I've been working from home for about 3 years now. My Dr recommended that I start standing and or walking every 30 minutes because being seated for prolonged periods is causing lower back issues in conjunction with previous injuries.Looking at many options in this price range this desk caught my attention. Photos and reviews along with specifications sounded promising. I purchased the 48" with the cross bar in black.Packaging did its job however unwilling say I was very concerned when the first piece arrived. The box looked like it was used as a wheel on the truck to deliver it. All corners were crushed in and I could stick my arm into the box on two ends. It would have been nice to know that it was being shipped in two seperate boxes with different arrival times. I nearly asked for a refund assuming I purchased the wrong item...Onto the great!Being heavy doesnt always constitute quality however in this case I believe the materials used seem to be very strong and sturdy. The metal frame seems to have been made with a thick gauge steel with good looking welds. I got the black wood top and without cutting into it, it looks like a heavy MDF however I do see that they use real wood for thier other finishes which might be the case with this one. But the paint seems to look textured like MDF when its painted. Not an issue if the MDF doesn't swell up in the future.Assembly was very intuitive and all the needed tools were included with the desk which I found to be very nice. Even a rubber mallet was included. The controls feel good to the touch and the functionality of lowering and raising is smooth. I still haven't been able to program the different height settings using the included instructions so I'll need to see if I can find a video of this process to make sure I'm doing it correctly. Essentially it seems that the Lock lowest setting and setting the position 1 use the same process. Holding 1 and S at the same time and when I want to save the second height holding 2 and S at the same time it unlocks the lowest setting. So I'm a bit confused with that lock feature and setting the desired heights.Overall I'm very impressed with the quality and functionality, its not too noisy or clunky. Sounds like it might be on a screw shaft for height adjustment which is nice.Hope this initial review helps.

Great quality
I really like this desk overall.Pros:- Biggest pro is that it goes lower and higher than cheaper desks. I looked up how low I need my desk to go based in my height to be able to maintain a healthy angle on my knees and also wrists and elbows, and many of the cheaper models don’t go as low and they don’t consider thickness of the desk-top itself when they report how low the desk goes.- it’s super sturdy, thanks to the extra horizontal bar and also thick legs. I saw a YouTube video that showed it’s not sturdy when it’s high, but in my experience it’s very sturdy and doesn’t move or bounce.- It yells how good quality it is. The top board is very thick which makes it look and feel high quality and durable.- The cable management system is a life saver. I thought first it’s just gonna be a fancy feature, but soon I realized it’s essential. Since I have more than just my laptop and monitor on my desk, it would have been painful to manage all the cables and adapters without this.- it was very easy to assemble, though heavy for one person to flip it over.- Very professionally made! In the cons below I mentioned that the front panel got broken for me, but replacement was so easy. They had built this desk so that wires are connected using an ethernet-like jack, so I was able to easily plug the new panel into my desk.Cons:- A bit heavy. I’m worried about how to carry it when I wanna move.- the front panel that has up and down arrows is located in a terrible place. My chair’s handles kept hitting it and one they I broke it. To be fair though, almost all other models have the same issue. I wish they put these buttons more to the side.- Warranty. I called them about the broken control panel, and they said they will send me a replacement for free, which is nice. But, I have two complaints: First, it took them like 20 minutes just to check if they have the part. Which they didn’t and said they will send me in 3 months! Second, I asked them what if in 5 years that I’m out of warranty this happens again? How much do you sell this part for? To my surprise they said that they don’t sell these parts and if it breaks you have to throw away the entire desk!Update: I git the replacement parts earlier than promised (after around 5 weeks). I unscrewed the front panel and screwed it back to the desk more towards the side. Also, I really liked how easy it was to unplug the cord and plug the new one back in.

Solid, Quiet, Built like a steel bridge!
"Built like a steel bridge... and as HEAVY too!"No question this desk will last awhile, though I question if it truly needs to be made with such heavy steel stock. Surely that will be a strain on the motors? It easily could be made with heavy aluminum and do the same job, at half the weight. In any case, best to take it into the house one section at a time, unless you've got some very large individuals with side jobs as weight lifters or wrestlers. NOTE that this ships in TWO boxes; potentially arriving a different times like ours did.Assembly: Once everything's out of the boxes the actual assembling couldn't be easier. Probably took me 10 minutes if that. The feet are adjustable which is nice to get the desk leveled. It's impressively quiet when it rises or lowers, is powerful enough to add 200 lbs onto the desk (why anyone WOULD do that, I can't say) and is quite speedy. Programming also couldn't be simpler: Find the height you like, Press S (for save) and one of the number buttons and you're done.I already assumed the "wood" would actually be aplastic veneer, which it is, but for what that is, it's still pretty nice. They through in a few bits of swag, which again, for what they are, are nice touches (a little neoprene drink coaster.
