Great!
Most comprehensive book about planting berries that I’ve found. So happy with this purchase.

Ask you need to know
I have several berry books. This one does the best job of explaining how to grow berries. In particular, it has tons of information on varieties and where those varieties grow best ie east, Midwest, west, northern latitudes, southern latitudes. Highly recommend.

Great information but difficult format.
I think the information contained in the book is great and very useful. However, the format of the book made it hard for me to read. The book doesn't contain many pictures but the ones it does have, are obscured with brightly colored text boxes containing white letters. Even if there is clear space to the side of the picture there is still a brightly colored box on it. Because the text color is white on top of a bright background printed over a completely different picture, I have a hard time focusing on the letters. It's as if my eyes don't know where to look first. I can only read about five pages at a time before the format becomes too distracting and unreadable. If I had paid closer attention to the online "preview" for this book I would have noticed the random colors in the book and not purchased it. I don't quite regret buying the book but I am not completely happy with my purchase. All in all there is some great information and if you aren't easily distracted by randomly placed boxes and don't mind a picture being covered in a bright color that doesn't have anything at all to do with the book then you should be fine reading this.

Bery Best Berry Info!
Detailed explanation of how best to grow the berries of your choice. I didn't know there were so many varieties of strawberries, that it was a good idea to pluck all runners for the first year of life, and a myriad of other both interesting and important points. Next spring I'll be looking for other varieties.

excellent resource
My only complaint is the lack of specification for central southern states when providing recommended plant varieties. Great information, lovely photos, easy to follow. All-in-all, I'd say this is an excellent resource to learn about homegrown berry production.

Great resource
This book is an excellent resource for all types of berries. Though it could expand upon less known berries like Aronia berry, aka Black Chokeberry.

Lots of good information, not great for the Mid Atlantic
There's a lot to like about this book and if I come across a used copy I'll pick it up.Unfortunately it completely ignores the Mid Atlantic. The US is divided into regions including "Northeast, including southern Quebec and southern Ontario" and "Southeast, including Gulf Coast".Hard to figure out whether the Mid Atlantic has more in common with Quebec or the Gulf Coast! This makes all of the variety recommendations useless for me.There's still a fair amount of useful information in the book but it's a frustrating omission.
