Check your part numbers
Overall, this tire is fantastic.I received the 120TPI (DD), 3C compound, tubeless folding 29x2.20 version suitable for my 21mm wide internal width rims when I ordered from this listing.PROs: + fantastic grip in loose gravel, sand over hardpack, rocks, and the road+ quiet smooth rolling on the road -- feels efficient+ easy to inflate tubeless with a floor pump (this is a good safety feature if you need to make a trailside repair for some reason -- a compact hand pump should be able to do the job+ feels very sturdy and durable+ seals well to rim and no weeping of sealant through sidewallsCONs: - feels quite heavy compared to other similar size tires I've used- required wrestling with tire levers to get on my Stans Crest rim -- dish soap was required to get it to seat the beads initially without over-inflating the tire on the rim- difficult to distinguish which of the many versions you are ordering on AmazonHOT TIP: Take a look at the Maxxis website and browse the many versions of this tire: Wire vs Folding Bead, 60TPI vs 120TPI, rubber compound types, suitable for wide rims (WT) or more narrow rims, etc. Once you've identified the group of characteristics that you want based on reading all of the optional features on the Maxxis website, find the part number for the tire with those characteristics on the Maxxis website and make sure that the part number on Amazon is the same one. I then searched Amazon with that part number. This process took a while, but I'm glad I went through it and got the tire type that I was seeking.

Ridiculous grip.
I’m an intermediate trail rider. I use this tire in wet and dry leaves. Like the other reviewers, I find it rolls slow, but the grip is awesome. Gives confidence in crap conditions and at night!

Less than a kg, easy to install, great traction
Was able to install without using a compressor, sealed right away, reasonable traction on wet trail, rocks, roots, rolls well on tarmac, overall very happy with it.Update: a week later, hold pressure really well, sealed nicely tubeless.

Works as described, so far so good!
Works as described, so far so good! I'll be getting the Dissector next for the rear, but this works perfectly as a front tire. I'm upgrading from the High Roller II.

Great tire for trail and some enduro
Maxxis minion DHF is your default to go tire for trail and enduro. This is the 2.4 which means that it is thicker than your XC tire but still thin enough to help you with a reduced surface area. The design gives super good traction even in muddy, rainy conditions. I have used these for years. The 3c Maxx Terra compound will provide more grip than its 2 compound counterparts and, if you are doing trails more than asphalt, it shouldn't wear off any faster than any other tire. Asphalt does seem to reduce the longevity of the MaxxTerra a bit.If you are more into lifts + downhill trails you might want to look for the 2.5 or higher that will give you more contact area.

One of the better tires for my riding
I am always critical of the price tag for MTB tires. It's just absolutely ridiculous what they charge for these considering how long they last and durability in comparison to my truck tires. I just wanted to make clear where my perspective is.Of all the tire brands I have tried now, and there are many.. I have had the longest life from this Maxxis Minion DHF. I run these tubeless at about 27-30 psi on the rear, with Orange Seal tire sealant. I have a full suspension bike with 6" of travel. I ride at least once per week almost exclusively on single track in the Colorado Rockies. Terrain varies from damp forest floor to dusty, rocky high desert. I don't ride in winter or on snow. This purchase was a replacement of the same tire. I rode this tire from April 2019 through July 2020. This is a good life in my opinion compared to the other tires I've ridden, far exceeding the life of tires such as Specialized Butcher Grid, Purgatory Grid, Ground Control, Kenda Nevegal, and a few others. With those tires, I was lucky to get 3 months of riding before the loss of traction was intolerable and dangerous. With the Nevegal, I struggled to get more than 2 months of riding life out of them. With the Maxxis Minion DHF, traction in both braking and climbing were great. I really wasn't noticing any fade in either until the last few weeks. Then they just "fell off" fast. But that didn't bother me as I put a lot of hard miles on this tire. It's impressive that they held so well for so long, then the drop off was severe and fast. I would recommend this tire to anyone who is riding hard and often. I still think $70 is ridiculous for a bike tire, but I think at least these won't end up costing me more than my truck tires in the long run as the Kenda's and Specialized tires were.

Outstanding performance in snow
I bought this as a rear tire to go along with a studded front tire on my 29" MTB for snow and ice. There is a major improvement in traction on soft and hardpack between this Minion and my old Maxxis Ikon. While there is no substitute for studded tires, this provided excellent traction on snow/ice uphill surfaces. Completely satisfied so far. I have a feeling it could be a little draggy in summer, given the aggressive tread and the soft compound on flat terrain, but on slopes and rocks it might be excellent.

Grip ohne Ende
