Darco OrthoWedge Healing Shoe - Large

I purchased this for my husband after he had a small surgery on his foot.He could not apply any pressure to the ball of his foot and he did receive one from the hospital but it was very heavy, clunky and made it difficult to walk.I found this offloading boot here and it has been great. It is light, easy to walk in and keeps the pressure off of the surgical area, which is exactly what we were looking for.

Look, I give it 3-stars for comfort because I wouldn't say walking in it is comfortable but oh my gosh, does it work great for my foot (5-stars). I have a wound on the ball of my foot and this takes nearly all the pressure off of it so it can heal. It'll take a day or two to get used to walking in it, but it is worth every cent. Highly recommend the Darco brand.

No where is it disclosed that you cannot get a full refund. First the return amount is discounted by $6.00, the a restocking fee if $15.00, left with less than half refunded. Product was ok, but my podiatrist indicated that it’s unsafe for people with neuropathy and can cause them to fall. In one case a patient did fall and she broke her hip. I wouldn’t have purchase the product if it were disclosed that the refund policy was so un-fair and costly. Don’t buy it!

Does the job, easy to find and affordable.

This shoe design is amazing! The weight of your foot is centered on the back of your heal which allows the front part of foot & toes to be weight-free. The price is also amazing. The hospital charged my insurance company over $2000 for an identical shoe & brand 10 years ago for my other foot surgery. I have nothing but good to say about the Darco shoe wedge. Wear a hiking boot for the other foot to equal your body out for walking. I don't bother with a cane anymore as my balance is good. I climb stairs with it as well as hike on dry trails wearing this boot. When you walk you might hear a popping sound, that's ok. If it bothers you, slow down. It's the underside of the front piece hitting the sidewalk. Use only for 1 shoe wedge as your body weight molds the foam. I have a different one for my right foot which is over 10 years old. This shoe wedge will keep you from becoming stir crazy sitting in a recliner until you heal. Now you can take the pressure off your foot & walk too.

I have this same shoe at home but is is worn out. The new shoe is labeled a large but it is really is an xlarge. So it's a lityle big. But it better than nothink.

Product did as described. Kept pressure off the front of the foot.

The wedge boot helps with off loading the front of your foot, toes due to injury, surgery etc. It is a little uncomfortable but, overall it performs satisfactorily.
