"Rock Or Bust is the band’s first studio album in six years and features 11 new tracks. Rock Or Bust follows the immensely successful Black Ice album, which debuted at #1 in 31 countries upon its release in 2008 and has gone on to sell nearly 8 million copies worldwide. Recorded in Spring 2014 at Warehouse Studio in Vancouver it finds AC/DC once again working with producer Brendan O’Brien and mixer Mike Fraser. Rock Or Bust is the first AC/DC album in the band’s 41 year history without founding member Malcolm Young on the recordings. Earlier this year AC/DC released a statement explaining that due to illness, Malcolm would be taking a break from the band, and unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm’s condition, he will not be returning to the band. Stevie Young, nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, plays rhythm guitar on Rock Or Bust. Rock Or Bust is available on CD and LP that features very special, multi-dimensional, moving cover art, which gives the illusion of the band’s iconic logo exploding as the package is moved in different directions."

If This Is The End, It's A Good One.
Writing a review regarding ACDC is tough. Simply put if you like ACDC then inevitably you will like the album. Then there is the problem of allocating stars. In reality there should be two sets allowed. One set compared to other music and another against their history. If that was the case then its a solid 5 star review against the mindless dross pumped across the airwaves masquerading as music and if I'm honest 4 stars compared to their best output.Putting aside the Bon/Brian argument - and I fall into the camp that likes both era's - this is an album that to my ears is the most accessible and consistent since Blow Up Your Video. Black Ice was a bit of a return after the previous two efforts that really didn't set my heart racing, but this is a much better overall album. If I was to rate it I'd put it just after Fly On The Wall - a much underrated album which I think was consistently good all the way through - and ahead of Razors Edge which really is about the song 'Thunderstruck,' a properly brilliant song. When I heard 'Play Ball,' on the 'net I wasn't super impressed if I'm honest. Same for Rock or Bust. Then when I got this album and put it onto a decent player with a good set of speakers turned up loud, they came to life. In fact the first five songs are consistently excellent which is the first time since FOTW.The second 'half' is slightly less solid but still very good. In fact the only song which I would classify as filler would be the very last one, 'Emission Control.' By the numbers song and didn't grab me.Overall ACDC have proved why they are still relevant and why the naysayers are wrong. Old or not, they still pull out the goods when needed.

Great album in the bluesy rocking style they do best.
Best album from AC/DC since the early 80s. Brian is in fine form signing in his quieter bluesy style rather than the trying too hard style he often employs. Phil Rudd again shows why he is the only drummer for the band and I urge them to pull out all the stops to make sure he is on the upcoming tour. Real lean years without him in the 80/early90s.Anyway, love this album in particular 'Got Some Rock and Roll Thunder' which is brilliant.I have been a huge fan of the band since 77 seeing them on every tour and for me their best album is the bluesy Powerage. This album is not too distant from the greatness of Powerage.Great stuff AC/DC and REALLY looking forward to the upcoming tour at Wembley.Cheers.
