Breathes new life into old Mac Pro
This is a really easy to install SSD upgrade that dramatically improves the performance of Mac Pro's (Late 2013). Much faster than the original Apple shipped SSD. Comes with all tools and a heat sink to avoid overheating issues. Highly recommended upgrade.

Quality SSD drive
The drive was very easy to fit (in a Mac Pro). It may help to watch the online videos first, but it's literally unscrew one screw, fit and replace the screw... probably took 5 mins tops. All the tools required were included. It's worth investing in the version that has the additional external case for your old SSD (there is a version where you just get the replacement SSD)... that's very easy to install too and gives you another spare disk at very little cost.A great product and highly recommended...

would have been 5* but the supplied case got too hot to hold!!!
Would have been 5* but the supplied case got too hot to hold with the SSD fitted to load up before putting into laptop. SSD has been great so far in the laptop.

Does all that it says
I had been aware of this for several years, but the last time I looked on the OWC site it was too expensive. Delighted to see the price had dropped. I've been struggling with lack of space on my Mac Pro's internal drive (500GB) and wanted to replace with something larger. I ordered the 2TB last week and it arrived on Friday (a day earlier than expected). I put off installing till today because of several things I needed to do and thought if anything went wrong they would be out of the way. I gathered everything together, disconnected everything from the Mac Pro and first cleared a lot (6 years' worth!) of accumulated dust. It took about 5-10 minutes to remove the old SSD and about the same to install the new one, mainly because of being ultra cautious and dropping the screw on the floor. Installation of the old SSD in the supplied caddy took slightly longer. Mainly as I was trying to use the old Apple screw - it doesn't work, it's too small. OWC provides a replacement. Reconnected a minimum of cables, attached the old SSD using the supplied USB3 cable and restarted. Booted immediately from the old SSD. The new Aura appeared as it was already formatted, but to HFS+. Using High Sierra of later (don't think it works with earlier versions) used Disk Utility to reformat. Renamed the old SSD so the new one could have the same name. Used Carbon Copy Cloner to move everything across and then restored from the new SSD. Took slightly longer than usual to restart but came up as normal. Most things seem to work, but it has killed Office 2011 (I hate the latest version of Word) (happened on my MacBook Pro too when I had to reinstall Mojave to solve a problem with Parallels). So just have to get on with Office 365. Altogether, including cloning and restarting, took about 2 hours. Very happy (so far). I read a complaint that there was no Torx screwdriver in the kit. There is in mine, and a Torx allen key.

Exactly as advertised
The SSD was exactly as advertised, the instructional video made installation a straight forward process and the drive has functioned just as I would have hoped, though I have only had it a few weeks. The packaging, tools and instructions in the box speak to a well made product from a company who know what they are about and want to provide the best service they can. From my experience, I can find no fault in any aspect of this product.

Great upgrade for 2013 Mac Pro 6,1 otherwise known as the Trash Can
This is a great SSD. That being said to install it on the trash can you need to know a few things. First you need to back up your Mac Pro with Time Machine. Next install the drive. The next step is the most important. After installing the drive you need to enter recovery mode to reinstall the OS. If you press command(Apple Symbol) R to enter recovery it will not recognize your drive nor will it give you the option to install the latest operating system (Monterey). If you press command option R it will recognize your drive and give you the option to install the latest OS. After installing the OS you can recover your image from Time Machine. Speed is impressive. Old drive Read was 732 and Write was 674. New SSD Read is 1375 and Write is 1228. Much faster performance. Highly recommend.

Sehr empfehlenswert.
