My favorite for journaling
CR Gibson makes great journals. Sturdy, thick paper, and look great. I have purchased several in various sizes and have been happy with the quality of all of them

Not truly leather- called bonded leather
About 5 years ago, these journals used to be covered in real leather which was wonderful, soft and long lasting. Now they're covered in what they term: genuine pressed leather which IS leather for all I can tell (it's not vinyl) ans I can't say what TYPE of leather it is, but it's a pressed leather, akin to chicken nuggets compared to actual chicken. You don't see the places where the leather pieces 'join' but there are spots like glue or scuffs here and there that don't come out. Over all, the journal does have a leather feel to it and is a reasonable facsimile. Don't let it stop you from purchase. The paper is a nice texture for pen or pencil. A couple other considerations- the brown journal came with a black ribbon where in past the ribbon was matching in brown and the older version had more lines per page. This one has 25 lines per page, so I go through them pretty quickly. The color of the page is a bit too yellowish when I'd prefer it to be cream but is not distracting enough for me to not purchase it. This is the best journal I've found that comes close to the ones I used to buy and I need a similar style/size for continuity to pass down to my children. The stitching is of good quality and the pages are constructed in the signatures of a quality book, not just glued in.Overall it is a decent product and I will order it again but maybe in the black which seemed to have more lines per page.
