Great to transform a vintage road bike into a more capable climber.
I have a vintage 90s steel road bike. I struggled at the climbs because not only the gearing is designed for milder climbs but because I am not as fit. I switched to this cassette and I love it. The 34 makes it easier to climb, while the 11 is pretty fast. The tradeoff is that some of the fast gears are not as staggered as in the previous cassette, so there are longer jumps. For me and my riding, totally worth it, and I get to keep my vintage well loved road bike.

Just the ticket for climbing those pesky hills!
My girlfriend is relatively new to cycling, and unfortunately we live at the top of a long, tough hill. Standing up and slogging up the hills works for fit, experienced cyclists, but the rest of us need gearing. This was an inexpensive solution that worked every bit as well as I'd hoped! We needed to add a couple of links to her chain to accommodate the largest cog, but didn't have to swap the rear derailleur, so it was basically a drop-in replacement.Maybe this Sunrace isn't as pretty as a Shimano, but it seems to be good quality. I examined it under magnification before we installed it, and couldn't find any defects. After quite a few miles now, I don't see any chips, dinks, or premature wear. I keep our drivetrains reasonably clean and lubed, and this is basically functioning like any other cassette.Definitely a solid bang for the buck!

Perfect for my Raleigh M50 conversion to 1x7
Converted my 20 year old Raleigh M50 mountain bike to a 1x7, worked great after installing the included derailleur extension link and doing the usual index adjustments. I installed a longer B screw, but I don't think that was needed. I've got a 42T chainring on it and street/hybrid tires. With this gearing I can cruise at 15 mph or so with a reasonable cadence. I also have a 32T chainring behind the 42T one, and if mountain biking I can put the chain on the 32T ring. It climbs hills great, probably better than it did when it was a 3x7. I've converted several bikes to 1x7/8/9/10 using wide range cassettes like this one and have never been disappointed with the results. Lighter bike, cleaner looking bike, fewer chain drops, and easier climbing. I usually wind up sacrificing a bit of top end, but I've never really missed it. Just be prepared to screw around with the derailleur a little bit, and experiment with the chain size to get it just right in the big gear.

Good Shimano replacement
Doesn’t shift as smooth as my shimano cassette, and it’s a little noisier. Also seems to be wearing a little faster than the shimano I have.

Works with tandem bike
I replaced a Shimano 12-28 with this 11-34. Also works with a new Shimano Altus derailleur. No chain adjustment needed. Happy with it. Much better on flat surface. More speed and the climb is so much better even with 2 adults on a tandem bike.

Great for 7 speed only bikes!!!
If you want a wide range 7 speed drivetrain this is perfect for you. With this you don't have to lower you rear derailleur. This is a cassette and not a freewheel, so if you have a cheaper mountain bike or road bike check out what type of rear wheel you have before ordering. This gave me a 50% increase in gear range for the rear gears, if you are a decent climber on a mtb then you can definitely convert to a narrow wide chainring in the front no problem with out braking the bank. As well, I love that I didn't have to replace all of my drivetrain to increase the range on my older mtb. "Why fix it if it ain't broke." The cassette shifts a little smoother than my Shimano cassette did new, and I didn't even have to adjust my rear derailleur at all (I might have got lucky so just make sure before you go ride it the first time).
