Very nice pen - get a converter
All around this a really good pen for the price point. I bought four different extra fine point pens at the same time and this is tied with another at a similar price point for my favorite. It writes very smoothly though there was a little scratchiness at first. After a few seconds/strokes, the ink flows well and doesn't pool like one of the other pens I purchased.I am not super familiar with fountain pens (in fact this is the first one I've used in probably two decades), so a more knowledgeable or experienced user may have a different perspective. But I've read that new users of fountain pens have difficulty with the extra fine tips and I did not have any problems with that in this pen.As far as just personal preference things - the pen has a really nice weight to it. It's more substantial than either a typical disposable pen or the other fountain pens I purchased and the weight is well balanced and rests nicely in the hand. Also the color and finish are lovely. No streaking or scratches in the coloring and I've been storing it in a metal pen holder which hasn't caused any scratching either, so it seems fairly durable. But in the interest of full disclosure, I've only been using it for 2 days so...All around, I really like this pen. I'm glad I picked it up and would gladly buy it again.

Very Wonderful Pen
I absolutely LOVE this pen. I've got this one and the metro, and maybe it's just the power of suggestion, but I swear this pen writes twice as smooth. I love how clean and soft it feels when I write. And this pen hasn't got ink on my fingers when writing yet, if I hold close to the nib on the black part. Besides that, the body of the pen is the same size and shape and feel as the metro. The color is very nice, I like having a blue pen to write with my blue ink.

It's a Metropolitan by a different name in different packaging. Great everyday writer
I like this. It's a Metropolitan in different packaging. Handles the same, same weight. Great everyday pen. Love the brushed blue metal color. Be mindful, it doesn't come with a converter, it's in the details, I missed that, so add on a Con-40 if you buy. (I was lucky, had one extra on me) Great starter or everyday pen that you won't go mental over if lost or broken. Typical Pilot fine nib, very fine. Pleasure to write with.

Writes smooth and sure
Delightful to write with, but the cap does not post well (that is, cap on the blunt end while writing). The cap falls off while writing unless you really jam it on hard. The Cocoon is about the same as the Pilot Metropolitan and Pilot MR, but this color is unique to the Cocoon line.It is a beautiful pen and hefty -- it is painted brass. It comes in an elaborate package, so it is good as a gift.I docked it a star because of the poor posting. If you lay it down without the cap it will roll, since it is so weighty and smooth. This was from n-Lion in Japan and took 6 weeks to arrive, so be sure to take note of where it is coming from. Now it shows fulfilled by Amazon, so it could be quicker.

I'm sold on Pilot fountain pens!!
Started with a black medium nib. Loved it. Then bought silver, gold, purple, and now blue - fine nib! Love the variety (use different colors of ink in each), the fluid and continuous ink flow, the neat (no black fingers) use, the ability to use ink cartridges or refillable ones, the elegant look of the pen, the modest cost (stopped buying those other much more expensive fountain pens!)....I guess I just love the Pilot fountain pen series!! LOVE THEM! LOVE THEM! LOVE THEM!

Absolutely incredible pen
I've bought lots of fountain pens over the years and without a doubt this is the best pen for the price. This pen writes better than all of my Lamy pens that cost twice as much. Whether you're an avid collector, or just starting out with fountain pens, I highly recommend getting one of these. While this is similar to the metropolitan, this pen writes smoother. This makes an excellent everyday pen. I spend all day using it and it's by far my favorite of all my pens. (I have a collection of 25)

Comfortable to use
Easy and comfortable to use. A bit scratchy, but it's a fine tip.
