Only necessary in very cold climates
Seems like a well designed and manufactured part.It's pretty hard to over cool a transmission, so this is really only needed in areas that see sustained temperature below 15*F or so.

Works well to regulate trans temps in cold weather
I had one of these for about 10 years in my car in combo with a very large transmission cooler. It finally got stuck and was causing some issues with the trans. I put a new one and it everything is working good again. I have the cooling capacity of a very large stand alone cooler without worrying about overcooling in the winter.

Been about 6 months use
Took me a while to figure out how to properly plumb it in…allowing full use of auxiliary transmission cooler(relying less on internal radiator transmission cooler) as it has its hands full keeping engine cool when towing. Also, ensuring it comes up to proper operating temp when not towing. But, so far I’m happy.

Did not work
The valve would not open either to the cooler or to the transmission. Unfortunlely I didnt install the valve when I got it. So could not return it. A word of advice is to install the valve soon after you receive it.

Good quality finish and build!
If the fit and finish were any indication of the quality of this product it’s worth buying. Unfortunately I lost it before I could install it. I’m sure I will give a better review of how it works when I buy another one and yes I will buy another one!

works good
using it for oil cooler on Harley. Maintains 200 degrees on hot days, but bypasses cooler until 180 degrees. Best of both worlds.
