PentelAin Stein Mechanical Pencil Lead, 0.7mm HB, 40 Leads (C277-HB)

Great price for a terrific product. I wanted a darker lead for my mom. She does crosswords and has been having difficulty with seeing what she wrote. This lead is darker and easier to see. Writes good and dark, doesn’t break easily. Much darker and softer to write with compared to Pentel super polymer lead that can be had in most stores. Great choice, makes any pencil feel premium.

Just like the title says, its always pleasant knowing that pentel products are quite good quality, I use this lead for sketching and I always like to go for a darker tone.

I tried these Ain Stein leads, thinking they'd hold up better than the cheapies. Didn't.

It did just what I wanted it to do

It appears harder, hence stronger, than regular lead. .7mm lead is better than .5mm lead for use on irregular/rough surfaces, and longer lasting on smoother surfaces.

Personal record keeping!

I'd previously bought Pentel 0.7mm B pencil leads through Amazon but found they were no softer than HBs, so now I've bought 2B Pentel/Ain/Stein leads - and they are also as hard as normal HBs. It seems it would cost £2.79 to return these leads in order to get a £2.85 refund, so they're going in the bin with the others.It seems the only way to get soft pencil leads is not through Amazon.

It’s a second time I order it, the price is reasonable and it’s doing its job. I’m an architecture student and I use a lot of these. It is perfect for drawings, however it can get quite smudgy if touched by hand

Nice leads, not fragile and a really strong case.

OK but not always easy to tell the difference between this and a HB lead - I'd place this at the harder end of 2B
