Noisy, but way better than any "flap" style pet door
After constantly replacing worn out dog doors with the typical rubber flap I decided to give this one a try. Hands down worth every penny. The door seals perfectly even after 6 months of very aggressive dogs entering and exiting. Not a single lick of cold winter air seemed to leak through this past winter. The one negative about it is it's absolutely NOISY. There are 4 captured magnets located in the weatherstripping that are installed loosely. Once the weather warmed up and the windows stayed open at night I finally realized how loud and obnoxious these magnets rattling were to me and the neighbors at night. So I drilled some relief holes where the magnets were located and filled the channel full of hot glue. Nice and quiet and still works perfect.

My house is warm again!
We were having to installing a new pet door every year because the other brands were warping and letting in cold air. This door is a Grand Slam Home Run. No drafts and the door itself is DOUBLE thickness similar to a double pane window. And as a added bonus my dog loves it to. It is clear so that my dog can look outdoors at his level without having to go outside. This door is a keeper and sturdy enough to last. My only concern is the security insert which could have been made a little thicker but so far it is doing fine.

Dogs love it and so do we!
This doggy door was easy to install, sturdy, works as it should. We love that you can close and open it. Seems really durable with all the traffic. Good product!!

The best dog door I have ever seen! Easy 10 minute installation (if you get the screws)!
The media could not be loaded. We have had a PetSafe brand pet door in our old aluminum store door for many years and as winter approached, we noticed that the flap was no longer closing correctly as the weather strip was coming off and we had a good breeze coming through. We looked into replacing the flap but then we had the opportunity to replace the old beat up storm with a thick, fiberglass exterior door through a Craigslist listing for free. I began exploring other pet door options for a door that thick and after a number of hours of research and reading reviews (thanks all you reviewers!), I decided to go with this door. The video attached to the listing that demonstrates installation was a definite factor in my decision. I am pretty handy with my power tools and the installation requires only a drill with a 3/8” bit, a small level and an electric jigsaw. I could not wait for it to come and my poor pup thought that the world had come to an end when I hung the new exterior door a few days before the doggie door came. I was only praying that it was as weather-tight as advertised. The door came and I did the door preparation in less than 10 minutes. Literally, it involved measuring the height of the dog, tracing the lock-out door as a template, drilling 4 holes and cutting the door along the line drawn from hole-to-hole in the 4 corners. In reading the reviews, there were a couple that indicated that the door did not swing and close entirely freely. I feel this was probably a result of not accurately using a small level. I used one that measures about 6 inches. I could see where using a long one may cause the level reading to not be quite as accurate when leveling such a small item. The door fit perfectly into the cut-out and the clear acrylic swinging door swung freely open and closed. I went to screw the door together and this is where I ran into the only snag and the reason I had to give the door 4 stars instead of 5. There were no screws included in the box or taped onto any of the door parts. The box had been glued closed so it was not a matter of being lost in transit but one that occurred at the time of packaging. Boy was I disappointed. So much for my 10 minute install. I had read in other reviews about the screws being too short for some doors and thought that might be an issue but not that they would not be included. It was Sunday and when I called the customer service line to find out what size screws I needed, they were closed. As I had limited time during the week and I had the opportunity to finish this project on the weekend, I took the frame to Home Depot. In case anyone needs to know, the screws are #8/32 and I used 1-1/2”. After installing the door, since the door surface was not flat (see pictures) there was areas around the frame that leaked air. I used a fingertip, flexible rope caulk to fill the gaps. I noticed that some others used spray-in foam insulation. I hate that stuff. No matter how hard I try, I end up making a terrible mess. Filling these small gaps would have been a nightmare for me. (Suggestion: If you do use the foam spray, I would recommend using the non-expanding version.) As far as the swinging portion of the door, the door seals with a little “snap” sound and is entirely sealed after the door swing shut. Wow!! What a difference! I think this is the last brand of door I will ever buy, even if I have to replace the flap at some point. Since I only have one small dog who does not play rough, I cannot image having to do that anytime soon. My pup is a larger chihuahua mix and she learned to use a doggie door with that worn out old door which required no effort to go through. I know some are going to disagree with my method, but I held open the door flap and lightly pushed her out and then back in a few times. Then she attempted it on her own, pawing at it but not strong enough to entirely get the door open . I again opened the flap and she jumped out on her own. When she came back and was standing at the door, she again pawed at the door to come in but not strong enough. All it took was me standing on the inside, shaking her treat bag and encouraging her to do it. After pawing at it two more times, she did it hard enough to break the seal and in she bounded for her puppy treats. She is now in and out like she has been doing it her whole life. I like that the door is clear acrylic. Some wondered if it is tinted but it is not. The medium size is quite generous for my 12 pound, 10 inch dog. The first photo is the door with flash and the second is without the flash so you can see how clear the door is. The third shows where the finger caulk is used in the gaps created because the door surface is not flat. I am going to paint the caulk but wanted it to be apparent in the photo. The video shows the door swinging closed. I could not recommend this door more highly.

PERFECT FOR ANY SIZE ANIMAL
I have had other doggy doors in other houses and all of them "wear out" after while, particularly on the sides. I never get the flaps, always the ones with the triple plastic closure. This is the best one ever. What makes it so good? I'm in the South, and it is has the best magnet construction on the sides. I have the X-Large, and my dogs run in and out all of the time like a revolving door, day and night. Had this door for about 8 years and it still performs like the first day, and takes a lot of abuse. Keeps the air conditioning and heat in seasonally, and keep the heat and cold out along with the lizards, toads, frogs, spiders, and other creepy crawlies because the magnetic sides are very tight. Coodos to the designers who also like pets. Well insulated with no air gaps.

Best Doggie Door
I have been using dog doors for more than a decade, and I always used the ones with rubber flaps. However, after I adopted a pit mix, I had to switch to a sturdier option. I'm glad I did because the flap on this new door is great and seals properly after my pets go through it. I usually have a lot of flies in my house, but since I installed the new door three months ago, I haven't seen any flying inside. Initially, it was a bit challenging to train my cats to use the new door, but now they all love it, including my pit. He enjoys looking out of the clear door and lounging inside, enjoying the cool air conditioning while gazing at the backyard.

The best for my needs
Of all the pet doors, this one met my needs. This door is for access from an interior house door to the attached garage where the cat litter box is kept. One of the cats we have is large by breed. Other cat flaps were restrictive in size and I feared that the larger cat would resort to making messes inside the house if she was hindered by the opening size. The reticulated design of the door doesn't jam on the cat's tail to the extent of other pet door designs. Some of the other reviews speak of the flexible material used in the flex parts of the door breaking down over time, but I think this can easily be repaired with minimal tools and supplies from any home supply store. For me, the following questions were: Is the size of this door enough for a large cat, but restrictive enough for our dogs? Yes. Will it catch our cat's tails like flap doors? No. Easy to install? Yes. Minimal learning curve for cats to use it? Yes. Of the choices available am I happy with this pet door for my needs? Yes.
