Excellent kit!!!!! Has everything you need, I tested remote at distances well beyond 50'. In short I highly recommend this product. Worked perfectly even with receiver tucked inside front compartment. I purchased this kit because I had to replace original rocker switch and wanted remote control but my setup did not have a relay. When you add up the cost of the components provided in this kit you cannot beat the price and Champion did not skimp on quality!My install: I was able to place all components in the small compartment under the black panel below the front rack on a 2004 660 Grizzly I liked this location because I did not need to drill any holes in any panel and it is out of the mud and rain. The down side was the relay would be further away from the battery and I thought the receiver/antenna would not work as well as opposed to being mounted in the open. I noticed no effect on either account. The relay worked fine, I tested the receiver out in the open and enclosed and noticed no difference at a distance of 80'Note: There is a very slight delay from when you release the remote button to when the winch stops. This not a problem unless you are like me and like to add a little tension to the cable when fully retracted for travel. I recommend using the handle bar switch instead, it is very responsive and you can add as much or as little tension as you like. Additionaly I loved being able to use the remote to retract cable and hold the cable when retracting long lengths of cable so you get a tighter wind on the spool :^)

I give this kit a 4.5 actually and even then perhaps I'm being a bit nit picky. The kit is well packaged and all the items are colour coded which makes installation dead simple. We have a John Deere Gator XUV 550 and I found the length of the cables was more than adequate to allow for a number of mounting positions. There is no issue with them reaching from the battery under the seat, to the winch and to the switch. Once I was satisfied I found the right spot to mount the relay, installation was a breeze and everything worked as it should. The remote is great, however thats the only place I would doc the .5 from. I found the remote has great range and is responsive, however it is difficult to fine tune because 1 click of the remote winds a lot more than a quick press of the toggle switch. Not a big deal but you definitely have a lot more control and precision with the toggle switch.

This rocker switch has been working very well for me (on my quad)! I purchased to replace the faulty one that operated my winch. Install was pretty straightforward... however, I did need to find a location that would work (I have a Polaris 700, and the cable length from switch to relay was a bit "short" for where I "wanted" to install it). But once installed, it worked great! Cost was very reasonable- and, (a nice surprise) the relay has an "on/off" switch. If not in use, you can "cut power" to unit. Feature was a selling point for me... as my previous relay went bad and drained my battery!

I use a Champion winch to load my sports car into an enclosed trailer. Walking alongside the car with one hand on the steering wheel and one hand on the remote makes it easy to see how to line up everything. One point off because the remote batteries are a bit expensive, but you can't have everything.

Works very well and is very well thought out. The major down fall is in its size. It is quite large and you may lose some useful area on whatever machine you mount it on. On the plus side there is an on/off switch on the main control box, with a seperated up/down switch with plenty of cord to be able to mount it anywhere on your handlebars and be able to turn them as far as you want. I like the idea of a separate on/off switch on the main control box because there is less of a chance of your up/down switch failing. Love how well it works. It certainly is much better than the original switch which came with the winch. I believe with the wires it came with will work with just about any winch.

Excellent set. I was replacing a non functioning winch toggle that also had been put in badly. So, the options were somewhat limited.Pros: very well documented.Relatively easy install depending on atv/utv configuration.Cons: The hot wire that had to be tapped into the ignition line was very short for the remote antenna. In my particular case, I could not easily reconfigure wire harness from battery and winch to connector.At the moment I only have the "handle bar" toggle connected. That operates the winch perfectly. The next time I have the windshield, dashboard, console, seats and seat flooring removed, I may reconfigure!
