Smooth as butter on my kitchen cabinets!
Refreshing kitchen update for under $150! Took me 3 days from start to finish including drying time. None of the steps were difficult, just takes a little time. I removed the cabinets and hardware, placed them on flat sheets of cardboard on my floor and on little plastic tripods to keep them raised up off the cardboard. Then cleaned both sides and the frame on the wall with Krud Kutter kitchen cleaner and a green rough sponge, then lightly sanded them and the cabinets frames in the wall (#80) and wiped clean with a damp cloth. Then after allowing to dry, I painted on 3 layers of this paint over the course of a couple days and looked amazing from the start. It definitely did need the 3 layers (I got 2 cans of this milk paint). I did not paint inside the cabinets- really no need. Only tricky part was double checking that the corners weren’t dripping (because they usually were so had to wipe it before it dried). I used both a brush and a roller back and forth as I painted each panel (the “hard” small white rollers worked best, not the fluffy rollers). I did not use a topcoat (a few years ago it left my white cabinets with a yellowish glare and ruined them). I did add little circle cabinet buffer sticker pads inside the corners so they won’t scratch when opening and closing the doors. Side note: I also painted the backsplash with Rustoleum Tub and Tile epoxy paint mixture seen from a video on “This Old House”, basically following the same steps as the cabinets, first with Krud Kutter and green rough sponge and then sanding and wiping clean before painting the Rustoleum Tile and Tube mixture on- and thankfully the Tub and Tile white matched the cabinets in this Snow White milk paint color perfectly! Same “cool” white color. Three days to brand new cabinets and back splash for under $150! Don’t pay someone else $6k+ if you can take a few days to do it, it’s worth it.

Pricey, but excellent paint
Repainted teenager's furniture, which had a prior finish. After light sanding, applied oil based primer and then this paint. Was skeptical that would only need one coat but, in fact, was acceptable after single coat. Went on smoothly and was remarkable outcome for a novice. Did put a second coat on the dresser and desk tops.

CABINET RE-DO MIRACLE
I read about this stuff on a blog post about redoing kitchen cabinets - exactly what I bought this for. It's not true milk paint, but it does act like it. It doesn't smell up your whole house, it sticks like magic to EVERYTHING (my cabinets are a real wood/faaaake laminate combo; I did not sand or prime, but did get some Krud Kutter spray cleaner to give everything a once-over before paint), it covers well, and it leaves a superb super smooth finish even when you overwork the holy living crap out of it (I applied with a small dense foam roller, and a cheap foam brush for all the nooks & crannies). And it dries SO QUICKLY. Like, 1 hour, tops - basically get to the end of all your cabinet doors and go back to the beginning for the next round.Water cleanup, which is awesome. But, I was wrapping my still-wet roller in foil and throwing it in the fridge between short bursts of painting, and it worked very well.It may seem kind of expensive until you consider the coverage, and how many steps you're skipping (dollars-wise, and also time & sanity-wise). Or just compare to professionally refacing cabinets, yikes! I'm covering gross 80s oak with the bright white - 3 coats will do, followed by 2 coats of clear coat. If it weren't going to be heavily used & abused, you could probably do just one. My bottom cabinets are the dark navy blue, so just two coats there.Buy painters pyramids if you're painting cabinet doors, and you've set yourself for success! Seriously can't say enough good things about this paint line. Kind of miraculous.

Excellent product!
The milk paints by GF are the best ever. Super easy to use, especially when compared to real milk paint powders on the market. While not a "true" milk paint, this is a great alternative. No mess and beautiful smooth application. The paint covers very well, and I think one coat covered very well, although they recommend two coats. Great consistency, brushes on easily, minimal to no brush strokes showing....just a lovely paint to use especially if you are re-purposing old vintage furniture. Recently used on an old wood wall shelf, and I used this to dry brush over another color of GF milk paint. Did not use a top coat in between, and the item came out just fine. It is a bit pricey, but I highly recommend it!

Excellent paint- white color is difficult
I love general finishes. I’d never used the milk paint before. The Snow White is a bit difficult to work with. It comes with a warning not to use a polyurethane top coat because it is guaranteed to yellow. I used this on a fiberglass door with plastic trim- interior side of front door and door to garage, which gets little light. It was not practical for me to take the doors down so I painted them in place. For that sort of application I would strongly recommend a foam roller instead of foam brush. The first coat I used a brush as instructed and the paint sagged making it difficult to get an even finish. I wish the directions stated this. You need a lot of coats for this color, which their website does explain. It looks great in the end but definitely took some extra work. I’d order the gallon for the color because you’re going to need it. It covers wood more easily than fiberglass, but it did work.
