Speedball Art Products Complete Calligraphy Kit

As I expected

The item is very old. Packaging says import date is Jan 2017.1. The ink and nib cleaner both containers were less than half in quantity.2. One of the nibs was missing as the packaging plastic was coming out.3. Other nib was a little rusted.4. Marker cap was open and that doesn't work properly either.It was so disappointing to get a mediocre product after such a long wait.Do Check with seller in future for product manufacturing/import date.

Received the kit which appears to be an excellent value for beginners who want to dabble in different styles of calligraphy.I haven’t started to use the kit yet so I can’t speak to the usability other than the speedball products I previously purchased (great!!) This is mainly a review of the value of this kit and the customer support.The ink cleaner jar had leaked into the practice sheets which was a disappointment because the rest of the kit, including the Speedball Textbook, seemed salvageable. I hated the idea of having to return the whole thing for it to be thrown away. The textbook alone is $10-$20?Contacted Speedball via email late last night and they already got back to me by this morning. Very kind, personable response (not canned.) They are already sending replacement product so the items that weren’t damaged don’t have to be thrown out. I’m beyond impressed with the customer support!

El libro que está publicado en el anuncio no es el mismo que está en el paquete, es una edición diferente, y eso sí no me gustó, todo está en buen estado aunque la caja venía lastimada

Calidad / PrecioEsperaba más calidad de este producto, no es malo pero tampoco es bueno.Materiales de ConstrucciónLos palillos son de plástico, que no es malo pero en mi caso me han venido uno de ellos con un problema, en concreto el oblicuo, el círculo que tiene este para la plumilla no es el correcto, es más pequeño lo cual impide colocar de manera correcta las plumillas.Em cuanto a las plumillas son de metal, pero no de calidad llevo alrededor de un mes con estas y una no la he ni utilizado y ya se empiezan a oxidar.Tinta y LibroAquí es donde esta bastante bien, el libro que incluye te da mucha información de tipos de escritura y letra, como hacerlo y que herramientas utilizar, como cuidar y dar mantenimiento, entre otra cosas interesantes, eso si esta en inglés, pero es baste bueno.La libreta que incluye tiene buen tamaño y todas las hojas vienen con la cuadrícula pero no esta a 45° tiene al rededor de 75°para practicar directamente ahí o utilizarla como guías.El marcador que se viene también es bastante bueno, lo que se espera y cumple la función, eso sí, no es punta fina.La tinta y el remomedor cumplen su función ambos recipientes son de 12ml así que si aconsejaría comprar tinta aparte si es tu primera vez que empezarás en la caligrafía.ResumenEs un producto desequilibrado, si buscas algo para empezar esta bien por la libreta de caligrafía y el libro, las tintas están bien. Si recomiendo comprar plumillas y maguillos aparte. O si no comprar todo individual al menos que te interese el libro y al precio resulte mejor llevarse lo demás.

I bought this item for my fiancé as a Christmas present. He was very excited to receive it, and began using it that very day. He has never used a calligraphy pen before (he has always done his calligraphy using a fine point Sharpie marker) and I had seen good reviews about this set. It did come with everything you need to begin, however he found very quickly that the quality of the pen isn't very good. It is a plastic pen with a very flexible nib. This caused a lot of ink to splatter randomly as he tried to write, as it would get stuck on the paper and the ink would go all over his paper. This was very frustrating to him because it caused him to have to start the entire page over. He has watched many videos and tutorials on how to do calligraphy, and I believe the next step for him is to get a metal calligraphy pen. This will make for smoother and more secure writing. All in all, it was a good purchase because it came with everything you need to get started - I just don't believe the quality of the pen is good, even for beginners.

I saw recommendation from Wirecutter and snatched it up. Staples will charge you 80 bucks for anything close to what you get. Quality notebook and pens. The guide is cool as well.
