Plugable USB 3.0 to HDMI 4K DisplayLink Video Graphics Adapter for Multiple Monitors up to 3840x2160 Supports Windows, Mac, and ChromeOS

This is the best USB to HDMI adapter I have used. It is also the only one to work with 4 displays.I recently started using these adapters to add displays for productivity bc I found I was constantly switching windows & it was hampering my productivity. I first tried to use a Kanex adapter bc it was a USB 3.1 Type c to hdmi adapter. It never worked & I emailed their support & got a response weeks after I already returned it. It was in the Mac section of a store but their website claimed it would work with windows. I then used 2 jcreate adapters but I had a little trouble getting the second adapter to work. Eventually I did get it to work after unplugging all of my other USB devices. Their customer service was much better than Kanex IMHO. They took the time to review my system & advised me that my CPU & onboard video is not powerful enough for more than 2 or 3 displays. Their support helped me to uninstall the j drivers & I ordered 3 of the Plugable USB3.0 to hdmi 4k adapters along with one of their powered USB 3.0 hubs.Can you believe my 2012 ~$300 Dell budget (Win7 Pro64) workstation with a single core Pentium 2.7GHz and on board Intel graphics is powering 4 displays? Granted we are talking about 1080p so the total number of pixels in all 4 displays combined is slightly less than a single 4k monitor. Also if I attempt to play a video with Media Player that spans across anything more than one monitor it looks like a slideshow with sound but then again look at my weak CPU. Playing a video full screen in Media Playeron any single display works fine. I tried playing a video with VLC today and I was able to expand the video over all 4 displays & it played without a hitch while I had Nitro PDF open, a VM running & 2 browsers open with ~10tabs open between them.It also has worked flawlessly for productivity with 4 displays for me.One is connected to the Dell workstations onboard hdmi port & the remaining 3 are connected to 3 plugable usb3.0 to hdmi 4k adapters.I will try to update the review if I add a 5th or 6th display.This is a great product but the best thing about Plugable is their customer service. They send you an email upon ordering the device so you can install the DisplayPort drivers prior to even getting the device. Installation was plug & play bc I had already installed the drivers. I simply plugged in each adapter to an hdmi cable & then plugged it into my Plugable powered USB 3.0 hub. The screen blanked for a sec & then I had 2displays... then 3... then 4. It was that easy.

My laptop has one DP port and one VGA port, each connects to a 2K display. The DP port supports 2K res while the VGA port supports up to 1920x1220 only and image quality isn’t as good with VGA standard.This product offers what I need in terms of specifications, in addition it uses DisplayLink chipset that I found the software driver is being updated regularly.Before the product arrived I received a message from Plugable with support information and link to download the respective driver software. I felt they really care that their product would work for me.The original packing of the product is excellent, the device is well protected in a strong carton box. The driver software installation is excellent, not only it did the install, it did precheck to ensure the software is compatible with my system, and it asked that I connect the device to complete the installation. The installer gave me excellent impression that aligns with the experience I have the Plugable.The only catch with the driver setup was somehow it left the display disconnected (among the other options such as extend your desktop and duplicate your desktop). For one moment I thought something gone south with hardware / cable. I did some basic display config checks to have my desktop extended through this Plugable device. Overall, I’m very pleased with the experiences and the product.PS. It isn’t as hot as I expected from what I learnt before the purchase from other reviews outside Amazon. To me, it’s more than warm but not that hot that I need cooling solution for it.

I bought this to use on an ASUS i7 Windows 10 notebook to run a third monitor. I went with the Samsung UHD 7000 series 4K tv instead of a true gaming monitor. I was not disappointed with this adapter as the color, clarity and update speed was exceptional-- especially for a USB graphics controller. The larger Samsung monitor is used for presentations, forms and videos for clients in a local business office. I was concerned that the update speed and text quality would not be acceptable but I had nothing to worry about because it worked just as I needed it to.The 4K TV had no trouble functioning at full resolution with the plugable adapter and I get zero drops on the USB bus.If you need another hdmi for a second or third monitor buy this one with confidence. I've done the homework for you:Prior to my purchase I chatted with plugable's technical engineering team and other manufacturers specialists to make sure I was getting an adapter that is up to the task.Great quality; great value; works exactly as you expect it to do so with no hitches*this is the 7th plugable product I have purchased for my business needs. Their backend customer service is the best you can ask for.
