well made
worked well on taping ceiling repair, although I should have used 6" knife for easier handling.

Inspect cornor edges of knife
I ordered this knife for a complete attic remodel. The first one sent had a bent corner edge. I sent back and had a new one in a couple days but this held up the project while waiting. Other then that, this kinfe is great guality and well worth the money. I am impressed with how well made and sturdy it is. It got the job done and is ready for more. I have not had any dealings with the brand Level 5 before but this tool will get a nickname (as all my tools do lol) and be kept in my shop with the rest of my regulars.

Great blade
The level 5 12" big back knife is great. Well balanced with a clean edge. Amazon packaging was insane. I am not sure how they didn't damage it, corners were sticking out of the plastic envelope then sent it in. The 10" came in the box separately with my oil filter. Seems like they would have packed both in a box and wrapped.

Smooth out of the gate
I’ve always liked the big back knives and when my Marshallton wore out and rounded, I opted to give these a try. They’re smooth right out of the box. No need to put them on any six or 800 grit sandpaper no lines or anything in the Spackle they are polished well, it’s a great way to carry a lot of mud across your seams. I highly recommend them and the sticker pulls off in one shot without a chemicals.

It’s Level 5 - what more do you need to know lol
Great brand, top-tier stuff. I’ve been using their drywall knives for years, still excellent condition. You know when you buy their stuff you’re buying some of the best, so you don’t need to check the reviews lol. they are a bit pricey though.

Very good tool
I needed something this wide to finish some walls that needed larger patches and this was the tool to use for it.The only minor issue that I found is that the edges are smooth on one side and rough on the other from when it is cut into shape during manufacturing. I sanded the edges with a fine grit sandpaper and in less than a minute the issue was fixed.

Just what I wanted.
Tired of watching my two 12 inch knifes rust after every use. I bought this for the stainless-steel blade. The first one I received was a return. Blade was jagged and streaked the joint compound. Product was replaced and the next one was fine. Already owned a Level 5 24-inch skimming blade which I love. That was made in Poland. This knife is made in China. A proud, family-run company based in Kansas City-that is what is on their website. Don't think for one minute you are getting American made goods!

a knife for butt joints
I am not a professional taper, so my comments are limited to do-it-yourself jobs. When joints are slightly uneven, much feathering of compound is necessary., resulting in a wide joint, needing a wide knife. This large a knife ia probably unnecessary in normal taping. I had to install a 4 ft by 6 ft panel in the center of an 8 ft by 12 ft wall, requiring maximum blending to conceal seams.
