Works great
I've had a pile of contractor books sitting around my desk area for a while. I had no good way to keep them upright and organized so I bought these book ends. They work great. They are holding up a pile of 17 textbooks (lots of weight) and doing a fine job. No flexing or any other issues. Great product. Amazon even managed to deliver them on time LOL

Great Product
These are some of the best bookends I have ever found, and I have tried a number of the options available on Amazon. Not fancy, but extremely sturdy. I will be getting these again.

Large, heavy and sturdy
I love these bookends! I don't write reviews, but I looked for a long time for decent bookends that are strong enough to hold up large and heavy books like textbooks and I might save someone else a lot of trouble. I didn't think anyone made quality bookends anymore. Most bookends are flimsy but not these! I used my first two sets for two years and couldn't live without more so I just purchased two more sets and they are the same quality as the first two. I love that they are tall to hold up binders and the base is long enough to counter the tall side so they don't fall and the weight also keeps them from falling. Also, they don't fall over when holding smaller books or DVDs. No sharp corners and the padded bottom won't scratch furniture. Well worth the cost; they will last your lifetime.

Tall and heavy duty
I was looking for taller bookends to hold up heavy notebooks and these are great! Just what I needed.

Sized as stated, work great!
When these arrived I was happy that they were heavier than I'd expected, which meant they'd be able to support the items for which I'd be using them.My mom passed away 3 weeks ago, and there were A LOT of photo albums she'd gotten when my grandmother, her mother, passed away 3 years ago. In total I was given 35. I have them all along the bottom shelf of a 6ft long sofa table. They take up the entire length. And are now held firmly in place without falling over by these heavy duty bookends.

LARGE
holds books VERY well - large and heavy. A little too large which is why I took one star away.

Heavy duty, great book ends
I am a book person. I have lots of big, thick books that test the limits of bookends. I use my books, so I'm constatnly taking out a book to read or for reference. Before, I've given up on bookends, because when I take a book out, it tips over the bookend and the whole row tips over. This time, I had to have bookends because the books are going on a desk. These bookends have overcome the tipping problem.I ordered the 10 inch bookends. They appear to be 1/16 inch in thickness. The base is long enough to use several books for weight to keep things in place. They are big enough to be truly functional bookends and I have not had any problems with books tipping over when I take a few out of the row.The black, powder coating was good. I didn't see any problems with it. The base has a thin, non-skid layer. The edges were not sharp. I'm sure they will be very durable under normal use. I like the slotted design. They are very space space efficient as they are an "L" shape. These are the best bookends I've used and I will definitely buy more next time I need to support a row of books.

Comparing 8 in vs. 6 in. Functional & Sleek.
I have one pair of the 8 inch bookends and two pair of the 6 inch bookends. There are 2 important differences between the sizes.- 1)the bottom of the 8 inch pair is completely covered in a black non-skid rubbery material while the 6 inch pairs only have a good sized square of the non-skid material on each of the four corners of the bottom of the bookends.- 2) obviously the height. These two factors mean it is important to get the right size for the right job. In my case, I bought the 6 inch size bookends for long rows (30 ish books) of children's books of all sizes that I knew would not be touched by my kids very often. I bought the 8 inch bookends for a long row (about 40 ish books) of children's books of all sizes that I knew would get touched multiple times per day by children under the age of 5 (which means they're not careful when they pull the books out, don't know how to put them back in the row and the row that once was nice and orderly at the start of the day leans heavily to one direction at the end of the day). Both sizes do the job I thought they would. The 6 inch keep the books in place and the bookends don't slide around, which is a nice improvement over the old bookends I had which would give way with only minimal manipulation of the books in the row.The 8 inch ones are tall enough and covered with the non-skid material on the bottoms that they keep my long row of leaning books that get touched lots everyday from falling over everynight, a job I do not think the 6 inch bookends could accomplish due to the height of some of the books combined with the weight of the books versus the lower height of the 6 inch version and especially the decreased non-skid material. If price were not a factor I'd go with the 8 inch every time, but it is more expensive than the 6 inch. As far as looks go, both heights look sleek, but the 8 inch has better functionality.

Excellent for taller and heavier books
A good set of book ends is difficult to find. Many other book ends are attractive, but tip over or slide away when the books lean on them. These are very sturdy, the bottom is rubberized to protect your shelves and prevent slipping, and the lip that goes underneath the books is a good size to maintain the book ends vertical. You will not be disappointed. Two tips to keep in mind when purchasing these book ends: make sure that the shelf is wider than the book ends, and that you have at least 35 cm's width of books to put between them (because the lips are not made to overlap).

Serves the purpose
Nice product and does what it claims. It some rubber liner is provided in the bottom, it would be safe to use it over glass top tables. Rest fine
