This is the best licorice brand I've tried. I'm allergic to corn, so anything with high fructose corn syrup or any derivative of corn is avoided. This is free of the aforementioned. It's soft, so it's easy to chew, and the flavor is perfect in my book. I love black licorice, but I know that many people do not share this love. So, if you do, you won't go wrong with this brand. It's always fresh and I've never come across any sticky or melted licorice in these packages, as of yet. I highly recommend this Darrell Lea Australian licorice.

These are excellent. Very soft and don't miss the sugar. They don't have that fake sweet taste. They don't get hard. They don't use high fructose corn syrup. I will buy again.

Still the best flavor and texture on the market.Buying in bulk bags helps to save money, and the candies keep well on the shelf.These are slightly chewier than the usual DL bags I get at Tractor Supply, but the texture is great.

Good deal for licorice lovers. This large bag of black licorice is soft and chewy and a good value. This licorice has a mild licorice flavor, I only wish the licorice flavor was stronger.

When I received this bag of Darrell Lea Australian Black Licorice, my wife’s favorite flavor. I received it and a bag of Strawberry on 12/17, they looked fine. I wrapped them both as gifts, Strawberry for Christmas and Black for her birthday.When she opened them, the Strawberry was fine, but the Black was melding in the bag. It looked like someone had added water to the bag. They were chewy but not in a good way. I tried calling for a replacement but since it is considered food sorry no return or replacements. I am extremely disappointed with this product, purchased at your own risk.

Perfect blend of dark sugars, licorice, and anise! It evinces all the best black licorice nemonics to my palette! Also, It looks like they reduced the licorice extract from 1 to 0.5 percent, so it's a little safer to overindulge nowadays, but read up on the caveats of licorice, especially if you have cardiovascular disease.

I purchased this product after buying a couple bags of Darrell Lea Licorice in my local stores. I loved the flavor, texture, and look of the product in the stores and figured if I could get the product in bulk packing and save a few dollars it would be great.The bag of licorice I purchased arrived very quickly and was well packaged.After comparing the product, I received with the one purchased in the stores it was very different.First the product was twisted similar to other brands where the store bought was smooth as shown in the pack photo above. Second the label on the bag was nothing like what was shown on the vender's photo of the item, and third, the bag was full if a syrupy fluid which may have been due to being stored in a very warm site either before or during shipping, but it was purchased on February 15th which was a fairly cool time of the year.I did contact Darrell Lea Customer Service and questioned all of the above and was informed that it was indeed their product, and the liquid was likely due to being heated at some point. I did not request a refund as I had eaten the bag over several weeks and the liquid was not that big of deal. They did give me a full refund and apologized for the inconvenience.By the way! If you eat very much licorice it can cause dangerously high blood pressure, I did not know this until I had a doctor's appointment, and my normal blood pressure was suddenly 178/96. A little research online produced several warnings of what licorice can do to BP so enjoy in small doses.
