Material=LOTS Inconsistency=Exists but I LOVE
I love this and the variety! My husband and I only found a handful of names we liked, not loved, in a book with 10k names (there were lots of unheard of and ancient names in that book,) so I wanted a book a book that covered a wider variety of names and this is it.I’m sharing lots of pictures so you can better see some of the features. My husband liked that there was a section for boy names as well as a section for girls. This is especially helpful if you already know what you’re having.A common complaint about this book is that there are multiple entries for the same name in different spellings or forms. While I wish they better organized those, if I don’t like a name, I’ll go to the next page, and there are no shortage of options. As you can see in one picture I’m sharing, in blue, I’ve circled all the many versions of the name “Michaela” which has many entries, and in pink, I’ve circled all the many versions of “Michelle” which is one entry. This is an interesting inconsistency, but I don’t mind too much. I’ll just go to the next page.With this page being so big and so many features being available, it may not be for you if you easily get overwhelmed. We, however, needed LOTS of name ideas that he can highlight in Blue and I can highlight in pink. Any we have in common, I write down. This way, whenever we have a baby, we’ll be more prepared and will have one less thing to worry about!

Well Organized and Comprehensive
There are so many names, it’s almost overwhelming, but this book helped us figure out a name for our baby, so I guess it did its job! I liked that it listed alternate spellings of names under one entry (most of the time), so I didn’t have to go through separate entries for say, Madison, Maddison, Madisyn, Madisynn, Maddisyn, Madisen, etc. I also never realized there could be so many spelling variations for some names!

Some of the names were weird like demon or hitler but it helped

I’m happy we bought this!
I’m very pleased with this book. It’s extremely helpful- we just found out we’re having twins and finding names online was useless. I’m so glad I ignored the bad reviews- we actually appreciate that several spellings are listed for names. One of those odd spellings has made our top list for a name I wouldn’t normally have gone for. Highly recommend!

Thorough, but sexist and disorganized
This book begins with a bunch of lists for inspiration - popular names for different decades, authors, fictional characters, and so on.Unfortunately, there's some icky moments reading through these lists. There are several lists that have only boy names or only girl names. Occasionally, this makes sense - names that are considered "ultra feminine", for example. Or the list of popes (all of whom have been male).But then we have lists like strong and wimpy (boys only), Muslim figures (boys only), and the most disturbing - a list of "sexy" names for girls only (containing some very common names like Carmen and Brooke). These are BABIES we are talking about here. Gross.Beyond that ick factor in the lists, this book is quite extensive and thorough. There are more names here than you're likely to find in any other baby name book. However, the organization is puzzling at times.For some names, there are separate listings for several different ways to spell that same name, rather that just listing them below the main entry for the common spelling as is done with most other names in this book. As mentioned by other reviewers, the name Michaela is a prime example of this.There are also some names where its common nicknames are listed under that same heading, while for other names, the nicknames are giving separate listings altogether.Christina, for example, lists only alternate ways of spelling Christina, while Dorothy lists other forms like Do, Dorle, Dasya, Doro, and Dosi... yet separates its most common derivative, Dottie, into a separate listing.The organization is just arbitrary and weird, and also kinda distracting. Do people really NEED you to tell them all of the most ridiculous ways one can spell Katrina? I mean, Kaitreynah? Really?All in all, a good source for lots of names, if you can get past "sexy" names for BABIES and really poor formatting.

A good buy, lots of names.
LOTS of names. I was worried purchasing a name book online because a lot of reviews were saying the books were just repeats and some even had very strange ways of categorizing names. But I am definitely satisfied with this purchase. For the people saying you could just use Google, that goes for any of these books. But this puts them all in front of you, so you don't have to go searching through a bunch of sites that will definitely have repeats.

Awesome book with facts and great choices
If you're confused about a baby name... this book can either help you pick something out or at least jar your mind for something that works.It's fantastic. We're close to choosing our own baby name and this book has been a fun tool to use. Highly recommended. Has all the factual names up to 2019 I believe.
