Great for a small table
This is a fairly sturdy table base. Assembly is easy. The black metal will go with any décor. The only problem would be attaching a top which is too large. This would make the entire table prone to tip easily. So, I would recommend a 24-inch size as maximum. We used a round maple cookie from a tree in our yard, stained and lacquered it, and it is beautiful.

Sturdy base
I turned some old wood into the table top and it works great. Sturdy and well made.

Perfect for table projects
well-made and was easy to put together with my wooden top. Heavy enough to stay in place and not fall over.

Good quality...a little light
No instructions in box but easy to figure out. Good quality. My only complaint is it's a little light so not real stable unless you plan on a small round table (24" diameter max). I used a 36"X24" wood top. Just can't push myself up from the long end or table will tilt. Once you get used to it, no problem. I'm going to buy a 45 pound gym weight and epoxy to the bottom of the base (will fit perfectly inside base)...no way it will tip then;) I probably should have bought a heavier version. But again, overall quality is very good. For those DYI folks remember physics, physics, physics.

Sturdy and reliable for smaller dining room setups
The MBQQ 17.7'' Round Restaurant Table Base is a sturdy and reliable choice for any dining setup. Its 3'' diameter and 28” height provide excellent stability and support. The construction is solid, ensuring durability over time. The sleek design fits well with various table tops and decor styles. Overall, it's a practical and well-built table base that meets expectations.

Using It for an Alternate Application
My mailbox got run over. I didn't see it happen, but judging by the tire marks in the space between the sidewalk and the curb, and on the neighbor's approach, I'm guessing either alcohol was involved or a 13 year old "borrowed" mom's car for a joy ride and found out that driving actually takes practice. Between the weather and coming off of an injury, I needed something temporary until the ground thaws. For that application, it appears to do the trick quite well. But I'm trying to review it based on its intended function. On that front, it's not bad. Like other reviewers noted, it's meant for smaller table tops. It would also work for a larger table attached to a wall, but in that application it would look a bit awkward. The base is wide enough to hold it steady and the base and top are both held in place with three machine screws. (Hex-wrench included, of course.) The top has 8 holes for attaching the tabletop, and comes with 8 each of two different length self-tapping screws. There is a shape to the top to help strengthen it. The round base gives it a more modern look than an X base in my opinion. I'm not crazy about having a two piece post, however. A smaller table implies an intimate gathering, whether romantic, a business meeting, or family or friends trying to catch up on the latest news; it seems the screws run the risk of catching on clothing. The screws, by the way, don't have lock washers. If possible, some "blue" thread locker (the removable kind) would be in order on the machine screws. There were some minor scratches on the two post pieces and one had an obvious seam. Of course, normally they wouldn't be noticed except by someone looking for gum that's not too worn out. The two post pieces are held together with the same screws as the base and top. (Again, three.) On my particular unit, two of the holes were threaded where the punch left enough metal to thread, the third had a threaded piece welded on. In other words, the build quality was okay, but could have been better. Since I'm not putting a conventional top on mine, I can't evaluate how easy or difficult it is, but unless there are drilled starter holes. Getting the top centered probably wouldn't be very easy... use the top as a template for some pilot holes, then mount it to the post. There's no access to the top of the post with the tabletop installed, so make sure everything is snug. Again, thread locker is recommended. The top is deep enough that you could put some lock washers, if so desired. All in all, a nice table base that would work well in a bistro type environment. (Or as a temporary mailbox post.) I did ding it for some minor build quality concerns, but it should be sufficient for most applications. And reasonably priced, to boot.Minor update: We're just coming off of a "wind advisory." Coastal types might laugh at 40MPH gusts and 25MPH sustained as meriting an advisory, but seriously, who would want to have their lunch or coffee outdoors in that kind of wind? In my alternate application, it didn't budge. I call it "success."
